Hi Folks,

I hope someone can help me. I have basically tried to setup roaming profiles for staff users, but to no avail! I have created a share on the server (\\SRV\StaffProfiles$) with the share permissions of EVERYONE - Full Control.

I created a new account in AD and pointed the profile to \\SRV\StaffProfiles$\%Username% When the account is logged on it just seems to create a local profile and when I look on the server there isn't a folder created.

Does anyone have any advice, or maybe a guide to help me with this.

I am running Windows Server 2008 Ent, with windows 7 clients.

Thanks in advance,

Two things to check, Did you put permissions on both NTFS and share level?

Does it work if you put a specific username rather than %username% ?

Thank you for your reply. I have tried both ways of pointing to the profile.

In have tried a variety of permissions, including going everyone full control in both I see if it was permission related.

As the moment I am happy to clear the settings and start again as this has only been applied to try accounts.

I have made a little bit of progress with this now. Users are able to login and it create the profile fine, however now it denies admins access to the profile without the admin taking ownership. Have you seen this before? I thought I had it sus'd it but then I get this 😞
