Plugging 2.5" Transcend PATA 44pin SSD into standard IDE socket

So, we have a need to use 44pin 2.5" PATA SSDs in machines with normal IDE.

The Transcend 1GB SSD comes with a female connector, and the board has a male connector.

Thing is, to get this to work, we need to change from 44pin to 40pin + Molex. We've got some adapters from Kenable which are supposed to do this.

However, when comparing the pin outs, pin 1 is connected to pin 2 on the 40 pin male connector. So, it appears to cross-over all the connections. (I'm using the pinouts at ATA (44) internal pinout and wiring @ pinouts.ru and ATA / IDE interface pinout and connections @ pinouts.ru to advise me here. The adapter is marked LGH-IDE-K.

Does anyone have an idea either where we can get adapter that will do this for us, or an idea to get this working?

This appears to be down to the Transcend cards - they are female, when all devices should be male normally, with cables being female.

I don't understand why Transcend would sell devices that can't be used in basically any consumer tech...

Looks like I'm going to answer my own question... I have bought the wrong ones! I should've just bought the standard 40pin ones, which plug directly into the board. Then it'd all match up.
