AB tutor control - anyway to override?

Hi guys,

 

We have AB Tutor Control installed throughout school.

 

Occasionally we are called to a classroom to 'fix' a PC - to find the teacher is displaying work to everyone through Tutor Control.

This means, we can't actually do anything until they are finished.

 

Do you know anyway in which you can stop the display on an individual PC temporarily?

Stop the service on that PC from any other working station.

you can either get the teacher to right click on that machine and select unlock, stop the services, or probably unplug the network cable?

go to the start menu, find run. type "services.msc" , find ab tutor on the list, right click and select stop

Yes, I could also do that, but I can't do that logged on as a student, and the tutor control seems to take over PCs even if they are only on the log-on screen.

From your management station, right click my computer choose manage, then right click computer management (local) top left and select connect to another computer - type in the computer name and then you have remote access to stop the service...

i have the same problem at school.

 

How i fixed is was by getting into c drive. (at school normally blocked but i did i by right click on a few thing and selecting "open file location" somtime it will get u in. another way was by typing "C:" into the search bar in your documents).

 

look around and find where it is

 

close it in taskmanager by right clicking and choose "end prosess tree" (do it for all the ab tutor files running)

 

then change the name in C drive to a jpeg or another file type instead of exe

 

 

 

 

You can also do it by right clicking in task manager the choosing "proprieties" and you can change the name throught there

 

When u want it back rename it to a exe and restart the computer (sometime it will glitch if u don't restart)

Just put this into a .bat file:

@echo off :abtaskkill /im ABClient.exe /ftaskkill /im ABClientMonitor.exe /fgoto ab

You can do this from another computer and connect to the computer you want to stop it on then stop the service. Richard
