Fitting a programmable thermostat?

I am looking at fitting the programmable thermostat to the house that I am moving into what do people think of the Timeguard TRT037. Currently it one of the those stupid heating systems that only has TRV so will cook you as the pipes are still being heated.

I fitted a Drayton Digistat +3 to ours when we moved in..wouldn't go back now..reminds me, I must adjust the programmes to suit now the missus is working from home...

You sure? I'de have thought that unless there are a lot lossy of pipes, the boiler stat would shut off if the return was at the same temp as the flow.

Even so, relying on a boiler stat for room temps..brave. I know I wouldn't.
