^ This is true :p I have to set our library defaults in our default user profile (i remove the c:\public stuff) but you can't change these on the fly due to the above.

It's quick, especially on slower laptops where you notice the performance benefits

The bootloader for dual boot looks pretty but reboots the machine to switch to the secondary OS

Just got a new work laptop and felt the need to install Win8 onto it, think the Stockholm Syndrome has set in :p I could live with the Start Screen if I could make one UI tweak, which one day I will get around to Photoshopping...

Windows 8 is best described as excellent under the hood with a front-end smacking of user-hostile ignorance on MS' part and their poor efforts to jump on the "got to have an app store" bandwagon. I don't think I have ever felt so torn between love and hate for any Operating System like this.

I'd rate it as near perfect if the UI was more like the Windows 8 Task Manager and less like Metro-land.

Love the speed of the new OS, in a like for like benchmark between Windows 7 and Windows 8 on the same hardware it flies but and it's a very big but at the moment, absolutely hate the front end and it's a million new reg keys and gpo settings to learn before it goes out on the network.

At present, 2013-14 will remain on Win7/O2K10 and 2014-15 may be Win8SP2/O2K1x

Windows Blue is supposed to be released towards the end of the year. It'll be a free update to Win 8 users. Sounds like a Service Pack no? Maybe they'll at least allow admins to turn the Start Menu back on.

Or they'll find a way of blocking it entirely!
