mattgrimley Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Love it. There is some great sounding stuff there Nick - The checkin / checkout system was something i was considering just the other day as i loaned a pool laptop out and scratched a post-it note for my record! I'd love to see a little more attention on the helpdesk - along the lines of the recent addition of uername and time to the front screen list.. Perhaps a nice table with lots of info - ability to assign jobs to individuals (encompasing the "hand back to user") - high profile job "ownership" with perhaps a smart-tile listing outstanding jobs etc. Largely all front-end stuff Other than that can't think of anything at the moment! It's running really well for us (though my server still needs an occasional reboot - i havent debugged that properly yet! Matt
mattianuk Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Looking forward to the internal login stuff
Marshall_IT Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Thank you so much for developing this fantastic resource! Everything's great so far, anymore work being planned on the homework section?

Matt Will see what I can do on the help desk - - - Updated - - - Looking forward to the internal login stuff Nothing planned at the moment, it is there if you can figure out how to use it - - - Updated - - - Burning the candle late Nick! Yep, my Thursday meeting was cancelled and the business manager had already decided to close the school today, so I'm 'working' from home
mattianuk Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Oh, thought that was what some of the stuff meant... whoops. Can i request that as an easier feature then please - so we can have live tiles on intranet homepage.
nickbro Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 @mattianuk some live tiles will work with the kerberos login for internal, my files and exchange tiles will not work, as well as the whole my files section. Users will get a prompt telling what works and what doesn't.
mattianuk Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Exchange is the one I wanted Thought that would be quite a funky feature, but can understand the difficulties. Wouldn't need myfiles. The booking room stuff would be good though!
nickbro Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 @mattianuk, it's down to how the authentication system works and unfortunately I haven't figured that part out completely yet. I may add a remember me checkbox for internal users on the forms logon page to remember their details.
nickbro Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Little sneak peak But, but, the Exchange Live Tiles are working, as long as you know about the new Exchange Impersonation feature Edited February 15, 2013 by nickbro 1
mattianuk Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 as long as you know about the new Exchange Impersonation feature I don;t but now I do want to know about it!
nickbro Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 @mattianuk: Configure Exchange Server 2010 Impersonation
mattgrimley Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Help Desk request: Just setting up HAP for another school and they have quite a limited Google Apps email system. I'd quite like to tell the Helpdesk to treat a couple of specific users as "Helpdesk admins" who recieve emails in the same way that my "support@freman" group does. Looking at the xml, the people who recieve helpdesk emails appear to simply be whoever is on the "reply-to" address on the email config line. I'd quite like to specificially direct helpdesk emails to the asst head and the technician (it's a small primary). Hope this makes sense..
mrbios Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Another helpdesk request..... Basically, when you get over the 500 closed tickets mark, by the time of archiving off and creating a clean xml file i have nearly 700 tickets in one xml file which was painfully slow. A fix for this would be wonderful
safcphil Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 the check in system sounds great. we have pools of laptops and ipads so would be great if staff could book them. Ive tried to make use of the current booking system but I dont get it tbh so the documentation on how to use that will be useful too. I know youve already said its not possible but better Ipad integration would be amazing. I really only want to use HAP for remote access and not have to go down the route of using a poorer second system.
reggiep Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 +1 for the chech in/out system. I have yet to find a suitable system for staff randomly come to the room and ask at the last minute to take a camera or a power supply. If we could have Hap running in the background at all times. If we could quickly add the item to the system and then book it out it would save us loads of grief later on when we can't find our spare power supply etc!
nickbro Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 I'll see what I can do @reggiep, @safcphil

mrbios Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Ok, 2 options here @mrbios 1. is I add SQL for the help desk 2. is to add an Archive Tickets bit Either one is good in my opinion, my original thought was to have it automatically archive them every term. So set the term times like you do with the booking sheet, then at the end of every term the closed tickets get archived off. That would also allow us to see statistics for each term if you were able to implement such a thing?
mattgrimley Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I'd love it to go SQL route if I'm honest.. But the downside is making the install a whole lot more complex for people that don't have SQL working already..
nickbro Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Added XML Archive functionality in the latest checkin: https://hap.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/82945
mattianuk Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 2 Requests from me: Static / All Day Bookings Request - - 1 can we have an option to set a static booking for all periods during a day. - 2 when entering static bookings, can we redirect the page back to the static lesson entry form please, rather then back to the booking form control panel homepage? Thanks
nickbro Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 1 - If you edit the staticbookings.xml file you can add it in there. The lesson would be lesson 1, lesson 2, lesson 3, i.e. comma separated list. That'll be in the v9 release as well 2 - Done
