Exporting users from an old domain and importing them into a new one.

Hello people!

Due to a "single domain name" problem we are in the middle of changing our domain from sis to sis.local; we have decided to take advantage of the situation and change the virtual machines that host the dcs. The question now is, how do we export all the users from the old dc and import them into the new one?.... any recommended tool? Will be possible to export the passwords as well as the groups....?

Take a look at wisesoft bulk AD. Use it all the time to make large changes and export to CSV.

 

You could use this and then use csvde -i

Thanks deano, I was looking for something that could let me do fulll export (users and groups) including the passwords but I don't know if this is possible using any kind of software,,,,

Have you looked at Microsoft's ADMT

yep this is what you need like as said above. You need to at least keep one dc running at get the new one running, make a trust between them, then you can you this
