the idea of installing apple tvs was to mirror from the the teachers macbook pros with the apple tv...
-
Hello everyone. Apart from the obvious problems like bandwidth and having a huge list of Apple TVs in your airplay mirroring, is there a maximum number of apple tvs that could be connected to the same network? We have implemented so far 22 Apple tvs and they all seem to be working fine, but the number that we pretend to reach is about 56 apple tvs in total and I wouldn't like to be forced to split the network in 3 or 4 subnets.... Regards,

Did any of you go this path already??? We spend 4k a year printing lesson planner and we thought that it could be a good idea to develop an app or use some commercial app.... Thanks

Hello people! Due to a "single domain name" problem we are in the middle of changing our domain from sis to sis.local; we have decided to take advantage of the situation and change the virtual machines that host the dcs. The question now is, how do we export all the users from the old dc and import them into the new one?.... any recommended tool? Will be possible to export the passwords as well as the groups....? Thanks in advance.

Hi, no, the ips are the same and it's not a reserved ip is just out of the range of the scope. I have restarted the server and it's working again... sooooo weird... Thanks for your replies...

Hi All. I have a printer server called printserver (10.0.0.15) with all the school printers, normally we used login scripts to map the printers to the clients. Basically we used the ip address of the server followed by the name of the printer. \\10.0.0.15\printer1 The problem is that after something (i don't know what) was changed in the dhcp server (placed in this same serveR) the only way I have to connect the printers to the clients is by using the hostname instead of the ip: \\printserver\printer1 when I try to use the old method I get this error: Please anyone knows how to solve this? otherwise I'm going to have to change all the clients login scripts including staff laptops..... HELP Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a software to do the IT infraestructure inventory, I have tried Spiceworks but I don't like it very much.... I don't like the idea of having to scan the devices, and I don't see the possibility of creating reports with all the stuff we have.... What are you using? cheers,
-
Sorry if this is out of date and you already found a solution, but we had the same problem, and the solution was to install PDF Factory pro, set the default printer to PDFFP and the select all the students and hit print, that way you can get a file with all the reports in minutes (depending of the size of the class/year group).... PDFFP will put all the files in a single file without opening office x times and hangin your pc... After that, it is much easier to send it to the printer....

I also would love that feature, sims really sucks....

Hi how do you put different colors depending on the grades? i think that is awesome

Thank you all for your replies I'll check HAP+ and Barracuda SSL VPN

but in the case that we keep it @home, we would need to publish somehow the files to make them available for students and teachers.... something simpler than vpn

One year ago, we started moving our services to the cloud. The first one was the support ticket system. We chose zendesk and for a very reasonable price it's working very well. After, it was the email, after years using mdaemon, google offered us a free version of google apps which saved us tones of time and money... Now we are thinking on moving the file server to the cloud, or at least to have some kind of hybrid system so staff and students can access the files in the file server from anywhere and at the same time we don't have to worry about backups. I have checked various solutions which looks interesting like box and egnyte but they are really expensive even with the educational discount. We only need about 1 or 2 TB which is the size of our current file server... So please if you have done something similar I would be really grateful if you could share your experience with me. Best regards,

is there any way of tracking all the dns requests in the DNS server in win 2k3???
-
The lan Ip is the ip of the DNS Server... Since I don't get any suspicious traffic over the weekend I think I'm sure the packets come from an infected client... but how to track who is sending those packets???
-
Also, isn't there a way to make the win server or the macs clients less demanding in terms of having the same time to be able to log in???? Thanks in advance.

Dear All. I have a windows server running AD and DNS services. I have detected in the fiewall that the server is sending confickr packets through it, but after various antivirus checks (I even had the visit from a panda antivirus engeneer and couldn't find anything) nothing came up so I think that the maybe the problem is that when an infected user connects to the network using the win server as the DNS server, the client sends the confickr udp packets through the DNS server.... Is there anyway of checking who is doing these requests in the DNS server I tried in the event viwer and in system32\dns\dns.log but couldn't find anything.... Here is a sample of the firewall capture: 02/18 12:26:13 spyware Conficker DNS Request 20000 LAN WAN 192.168.111.2 80.58.61.254 55264 53 dns alert high Any ideas??? Thanks

I have two mac labs (24 macs each). The way the users access them is with their AD credentials. It normally works fine but from time to time, the students can't access their accounts from the macs, I realised that there was a problem of sync between the mac and the server so I setup the macs to use the AD server as the Time server; but from time to time they loose sync and I have to login in the mac as an admin re-sync the time "manually" and then users are able to log in... Have any of you ever had a problem like this??? Thanks in advance.
