Many thanks, Steve
Haptic Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Hi Steve, This offer is currently running till 30th December... so still time to get your school in a Xmas present! Wake me up when they offer 802.11ac To ask a question by way of response- How many 802.11ac client devices do you have currently on site? Or more tellingly how many client devices with 3x3:3 802.11n wireless cards do you have to the moment? 802.11ac is a great technological advance but realistically a well deployed, managed, 802.11n system will more than handle the requirements of 99.9% of sites; it's quite telling when you look at the traffic utilisation of even a large scale Ruckus deployment that the majority of clients barely scratch the surface of the systems capabilities. That's before we start getting into the time scale for a mass market client devices which support 802.11ac; As a frame of reference I just had a quick scan of the first 9 notebooks listed on a well known e-commerce site, all 9 of which are current models, and all 9 are 2.4Ghz only single band 802.11n devices- 4 years after the release of the 802.11n standard, the vast bulk of devices aren't capable of supporting or utilising even half the potential throughput.
