hi all, I'm having a bit of a headache with our Apple TVs. We've just deployed around 60 of them, all setup with a global proxy to go through our in house Squid box which just puts in the username and password the for the staff Internet account and then forwards traffic to our LA. It works great for everything except playing video users have taken using the camera on the iPad, Youtube works fine though. If we take the proxy settings out the video plays, but the Apple TVs get the pupil Internet settings then (i.e. no youtube). This is an option though as I can reserve a range of IPs for the Apple TVs and get our LA to allow Youtube access for them, but as the Apple TVs are now in place, some rather inaccessible, I'd rather avoid this route unless needed! Have any fellow geekers come across this issue?

[ipad] iTunes Terms & Conditions Have Changed
joe90bass replied to joe90bass's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Sometimes the answer (or workaround! ) is staring you in the face....! cheers, will install one app first :-) annoyingly I've got about 100 iPads left to do -
I'm currently setting up iPads for our Year 7 group (1:1 project) and have suddenly come across the annoying T&Cs have changed nightmare. The iPads are setup using configurator and Meraki, as soon as the apps start downloading I'm prompted to accept the new T&Cs which would be fine if it was just 1 app, but we have a lot more installing and it wants me to accept for every one of them! Has anyone else experienced this? If so how did you get around it? The iPads seem to get a bit onfused and I can't actually accept every one of the T&Cs windows as they don't actually load, and the apps don't download, at best one or two do. Another iPad hell story.....

Thank you! It was there in front of me all the time! While I'm at it I'll remove the erotica settings as well, no reading 50 shades for our kids!

We're about to deploy iPads to all our year 7 pupils (joy!). All iPads are supervised using configurator and Meraki and have individual Apple IDs. I've been told it's possible to prevent removal of the Apple ID from the iPad, but I can't find out how to do this - is it possible!?

Hi all, on average how long does it take for Apple to Whitelist your IP/domain to allow more than 10 Apple IDs to be created? When I contacted them from the VPP site I had a quick reply back asking for details which I responded straight back to, but it's been a few days now and I'm under pressure form the powers that be to get IDs sorted... Also, has anyone had any luck with bulk creation tools on Mavericks? I've found one or two for earlier versions of OSX bu tmy Applescript knowledge is non existent so getting them to work on Mavericks is going to be a struggle for me! Cheers

Hi all, I've been tasked with looking into a 1 to 1 solution for our school, are any schools on here looking into, or using, Windows tablets? It's not too hard to find iPad 1:1 schools but Windows is proving difficult. So far I've only found the Churchill Academy who are trialling them, they were kind enough tom eet with us yesterday to talk through their progress so far but it would be great to talk to others as well. Thank!

[windows tablet] Managing Surface RT app installs

You need to enable the local group policy service and then set in Local computer group policy object > user config > admin templates > Windows components > Store > Turn off the store application -

Aargh! Anyone any solutions for this. I've found the policy to completely disable the store, but I ideally only want to stop pupils downloading apps, but the apps we do have installed (only Zinio at the moment) to still be able to update. -

I've just come up against the same problem! Have you come up with a solution yet? Thankfully I've only got 19 to install one app on for pupils so it won't be a major headache this time, but in the future it could be!
