The policy template is great, but why is it in pdf? Word format would make it more easily editable for schools.

Noted yesterday in our meeting and a word version will be made available soon

Also any enquiries from other LEA's can be directed to [email protected]

Thanks.

Kent LA always seem to be ahead of the game with regards to e-safety.

I hope its because we are a group of people who a. actually work in schools etc and b. care passionatly about educating children and young people to keep themselves safe!

Its also to those agencies who allow staff the time out of their normal work to do these things.

Now on with the planning for the 4th(?) Kent E-Safety Conference!....all I need is a free venue for 150 people!

I'm quite envious of you... I'd love to be involved more at County level on e-Safety, but as I'm working in a private school now...

... any chance of me getting into the conference (I'm a state secondary governor in Kent)

Can't KCC do something with Oakwood House for the conference? If not I might be able to help negotiate something at the school where I'm governor. My school is too small to 150 adults in one room!

Strangely enough the KSCB has a responsibility for all children and young people in Kent, including those in home schooling, private education, looked after children etc. There's certainly been discussion of inviting private sector schools and some have definitely been before. Governors were a specific target for invites mentioned at a previous meeting so I'm sure as we are trying to get schools to nominate a governor with responsibility for e-safety I won't be a problem!

AFAIK Oakwood house whilst a KCC facility is run as a commercial venture and as such charges even other KCC departments going rates (not 100% on this one though)
