HP ProCurve - 1810G x2 both I can manage and ping

Dlink DES 1008P POE hub

Setup one POE device [ wireless AP ] - fine

 

Problem:

 

Plug in 2nd POE device [ another AP ] - switches go manic and blink everything then fault light pops up

 

Un-plug 2nd POE device all goes back to normal BUT now I can't ping the two HP ProCurve - 1810G switches so I can't manage them however, they are working !!

Rogue 2nd AP? Is it capable of DHCP & pushing out IP addresses?

Tried different Access Points - the old POE units work fine - these POE hubs don't. Now got a new problem - re-set one of the switches, back and working and I can ping it - but can't get into it via the web. I am starting to getting really pi55ed off with this now.

It's not the dos security feature kicking in and blocking http access is it?

I had the same problem with 3Com APs a few years back. Seemed to be looping and brought entire network to a standstill. Since it was a normal working day I quickly put them back in the cupboard, rebooted the poor confused switches and haven't touched the APs since.
