6Foot2 Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4W0K1wiqzU I want one (actually I want more than one, but one's a start...)
FN-GM Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Want!! Windows needs to make it easier to snap Windows on these ultra wide screens. I still find it quicker to work on separate dual monitors.
Arthur Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I still find it quicker to work on separate dual monitors. Dell's Display Manager app enables you to create custom layouts to split up the screen. You're right that Microsoft should include this functionality with Windows however.
free780 Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Don't show staff. It'll be like dual screens all over again. 1
FN-GM Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Don't show staff. It'll be like dual screens all over again. I don't think it will be a problem here. They won't fit on our desks!
Dos_Box Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 I don't think it will be a problem here. They won't fit on our desks! Since when did logic and reality matter? Remember when iPads first came out? 'I want/need an iPad!' 'Why?' 'Because iPad!!!'
6Foot2 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 Since when did logic and reality matter? Remember when iPads first came out? 'I want/need an iPad!' 'Why?' 'Because iPad!!!' It was Surfaces in preference to laptops here. Now we can't give them away (Surfaces)
gshaw Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 It was Surfaces in preference to laptops here. Now we can't give them away (Surfaces) @DaveP feel free to send one my way 1
DBazeley95 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I'd definitely take a Surface if one was going spare 1
DJ-1701 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 @DaveP, whoops, opened up a can of worms there. Though I expected more people to asked where do they send their SAE to. 1
JJonas Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Free Surface. I will take one and even pay postage. 1
Arthur Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Now we can't give them away (Surfaces) Can I have one too before they're all gone? 1
SamanthaD Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I'll do you a deal and take them off your hands for you - only charge you £100 a unit. Happy to talk bulk discounts... As for Dell Display Manager - thank you so much! I was stuck with a L / R split over 2 monitors, only giving 4 open windows. Now I've got loads to play with! 1
HTCPCP Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) It was Surfaces in preference to laptops here. Now we can't give them away (Surfaces) I think most of us on the forum wouldn't say no to free surfaces! Going back to the topic though, who doesn't need 3 or 4 £1500 monitors? 6Foot2 Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 I think most of us on the forum wouldn't say no to free surfaces! Can't really give them away off-site (that I could!) I feel that a MOD may be around the corner to notify us to get back to the Dell Ultrasharp.
TechMonkey Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 The built in KVM wins it for me... I'm sure I can find a reason to justify it for that reason alone
