Eclipse .Net fingerprint info default location.

I need a sanity check please.

 

Scenario:

 

Librarian computer (refreshed 3-4 times since using Eclipse 2 & Eclipse .Net).

Identikit used for fingerprints

Database and Eclipse .Net installed on a dedicated VM.

 

# Sep 2014 - Fingerprints work.

 

# 03-10-14 - Fingerprints don't work after vendor upgrades server and workstation.

 

Lack of fingerprints pointed out to vendor.

 

"Oh they were stored on the librarian computer in $folder".

 

Folder doesn't exist, folder has never existed (as far as we can tell). If we'd had the option, we'd have put in on the server (it's not there either, nor is it on the backup we took before we let the vendor on the server).

 

Fingerprint hashes for every user do appear to be saved in the borrowers table in the database, but apparently Eclipse .Net doesn't use them.

 

So my male cow output detector is flashing and if someone wouldn't mind poking around in their eclipse install to see what's what, I'd appreciate it - if it's stored in a file, it should apparently be in the format of customernumber.dat.

 

We do have a ticket open with the vendor, but we're currently going round in circles.

Eclipse manages thumb prints only two ways that i'm aware of:

 

#1 - Within the SQL database, this is in versions up to 12.3 and not using silverlight circulate.

#2 - Within a .dat file normally located on the PC primarily using the thumb scanner (C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Librarian Systems\MLS Hardware Support\Bin\App_Data), this is in versions above 12.3 and anyone using sliverlight circulate.

 

Note - you can check if your using silverlight circulate by logging into management as an administrator going to settings > general and checking interface, there should be an option for circulate if its set to silverlight then you are using option 2 anything else option 1.

 

When you say this stopped working after a vendor upgrade are you referring to an MLS update? If you have updated to the new Silverlight Management version you have to convert your thumb prints to the .dat file which I believe has a low success rate.

MLS logged in, updated our version to Silverlight. Fingerprints stopped working. No mention (that I'm aware of - colleague was herding them) was made of a method to convert the database-based fingerprints to .dat format.
