Offering an IT support apprenticeship near Blackpool

Since my current technician (stu) has the cheek to want to better himself by going to uni I'm going to be in need of a new apprentice as of September.

 

I wasn't particularly impressed by Blackpool and Fylde College (where stu studied) so I'm wondering where else there may be to offer me some more options. Ideas people?

You can do what we did. We advertised with the Jobcentre Plus, Connexions & placed a advert in the local paper. We had 20 people interested in the post.

The problem is more finding a suitable apprenticeship provider because, as I said, the last one wasn't amazing... I'm sure that a less capable student would still be struggling by!

I thought that you meant that you weren't impressed by the students coming out of that college, instead of the college as the provider.

yay lies but yay

 

the college is they didn’t even know what vocational certificate i would be taking after first 6 months so i ended up cramming all modules in to a 11 week period!

During my workplace reviews by college assessor i would ask questions and they had no idea and they forgot to obtain information requested by myself and ric on multiple occasions.

 

 

I have enjoyed my apprentaship here tho and i am only leaving because of uni, tho if ppl like irish music or dance it wont go down well:p

Given the current job market and redundancies, there's bound to be a few parents, with relevant experience who are sitting at home twiddling their thumbs. We've got one working our help desk front line voluntarily who used to be a oracle DB administrator/.net programmer, whilst she's looks for more parent friendly jobs in the area.
