Yeah ssl has been on my wantz list for a while now. We did have ssl login in the past but vbulletin and session bleed mastly borked that.

The newest EduGeek will have ssl login as a minimum and I am trying to implement permanent ssl but it does cause issues for people connecting. HTTP spec 2 fixes a lot of the ssl performance issues as it integrates spydy and ssl stapling so watch this space :)

Yeah we are getting rid of vBulletin, just got a hold of the latest forum bits 2 days ago too :)

Any idea's/suggestions are welcome.

Text only :)

That would make an interesting change :D

No Joking, I have wanted a Lynx compatible version for ages.

Looks like it will be IPB V4 I think but it is still in development.

What's the reason behind ditching vB?

Primarily stability and updates. vBulletin 5 is a disaster so its not really an option and v4 is a nightmare for updates.

Switch to xenforo please. IPB isn't too bad though

I do like xenforo but the biggest issue is its lack of features or the need to get additional addons to fill in gaps. IPB is a lot more complete.

We have licenses for both and in regards to IPB we would be looking to move to the new version v4 ideally if its stable, possibly v3 as an interim to v4.

Maybe it will even come with a Windows Phone app :p

heheh :p
