USB Printing problem

I have an HP P1005 personal laserjet which Windows XP Pro refuses to print to.

 

I've installed the printer onto a neighbouring PC andf it works fine.

 

I'm guessing it's the USB Printing system. I've removed that, reinstalled. Re-installed the printer. Tried different ports; ran sfc /purgecache to rebuild the dll's after removing everything, and then re-installing; ran sfc /scannow to restore original drivers

 

Documents fail as soon as you send to print. Printing from test print, also tried dos printing.

 

Any ideas what to try next?
