    Pity I already have one!

If anyone else is looking, these are great for testing ESXi and Xen.

The CPU has AMD-V, the NIC and Storage work with for VMs (RAID doesn't work though). You can't install ESXi 3.5 with the CD, but you can put the image on a USB stick and boot from there (there's an internal USB port too so you can hide inside). It will need extra RAM to boot esxi (4GB will be cheap though).

Very true - We have this 4GB upgrade kit (2 x 2GB) for just 31.97

How long are you going to have these on offer for / how many do you have at this price?

I might be looking for a similar solution in the future as a SBS.

    Thanks

We do have limited stock of these and they are disappearing pretty quickly, but we can keep one reserved for you if you're definitely after one, depending on when you're looking to purchase. We can also include a bios locked operating system for you for an even greater discount on your SBS solution if you need it

ESXi v4.0 provides better support for the ML115 apparently.

Anyone interested in running VMware or just looking for information on virtualization should check out techhead.co.uk - makes essential unbiased reading.

There are quite a few very good articles relating specifically to the ML115 above too.

    I'm Interested - ML115

    Hi,

I am interested in a HP ML115 G5 for VMware ESXi testing. I am a student and am looking to purchase a low cost server that is capable of running a handful of VMs.

I have looked at Servers Plus' website (HP 470065-018 ProLiant ML115 G5 Tower Server | ServersPlus) and saw the ML115 offering for 169.99. What are people's thoughts on this for a entry level server for ESXi work?

I would be looking to max out the memory to 8GB and add a 500gb HDD. Therefore please could suppliers quote for a ML115 with 8gb RAM and one additional 7200rpm 500gb hard drive.

    Many thanks,

    Ross

Thanks Ross, we're working on a quote for you now. Take a peek at techhead - They use these servers quite frequently as ESXi test boxes and rate them quite highly for that purpose
