Help me get my head around this web service stuff

I have an SQL server in school which I have created a web service for applications to connect to to access information.

This web service is on the same server as the SQL server.

I also have a silverlight application which uses the above web service, and as such uses the credentials of the client to connect to the service.

Now, this is all well and good when used in school, but how do I now make it use the credentials of the sharepoint site that is hosting it?

    Any ideas?

Not sure on its implementation in Silverlight but may be supported through via credentials delegation using Kerberos:

The other thing that was suggested was pointing to the silverlight part via a virtual directory in IIS on the sharepoint server that would allow SSO to handle it.
