  1. Nice! It will be interesting to see if they take any notice of it. I've read accounts of people that ignore them altogether until they get called to court- I hope that isn't you!
  2. Absolutely! My partner is american and we go back to there now and again- lots of lovely space in the virginia countryside! You can put whatever you want up as loud as ya like The benefits of not living like ants in cities Good luck with those god awful neighbours.
  3. Could try reinstalling IE, flash again...
  4. Maybe check the security settings in IE?
  5. I haven't had anything quite as bad as this but my neighbours above have wooden floors and I more or less hear every footstep, thankfully though they go to bed by 11 every night like ourselves. Funny thing is they came down to us for a chat one month because they heard our talkradio in the morning on the weekends, we mutually agreed to keep our volumes down as I informed him about the footsteps and the absurd bass on his TV sound system. Oh btw we have no sound system and no tv- all the sound is coming from a iMac with no external speakers and the volume is never at full [i did tell him of this and we agreed that we need sound insulation, I rent downstairs and he owns upstairs]. The house was converted to two parts before the sound insulation regulations came in. I'd much prefer to move but in general it is a pleasant and nice neighbourhood. Apparently they are trying to sell upstairs so god knows what we'll get We've got a nice equilibrium at the moment. My story is over, all the advice given here is exactly what I've read elsewhere in the past and is sound.
  6. haha Thanks guys Can you imagine the difficulty of kids understanding that it is theft when their teachers don't even understand? We are licensed as it is and using more open source by the day. I've been reading a lot of FAST articles but I still can't find examples of schools being taken to the cleaners as it were.
  7. Hi all In our workplace we've been talking about licensing quite a bit recently especially with the recent reporting of a big crackdown on small businesses this year [i.e. the 20K reward for reporting suspects]. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any similar cases with educational institutions such as secondary schools being caught and punished much? We've had trouble finding examples and it is hard trying to convey the seriousness of licensing to some younger/naive staff members. Thanks for any feedback.
