I think that might be it! It was set to 'Higher Education' as yours was. It was set up as part of the DfE funded scheme during Covid, so I'd expect the approved people who set it up to have addressed that, but apparently not! Fingers crossed that has fixed it for us, but I will report back next week to confirm and help future me's who search out this thread. - - - Updated - - - I think that might be it! Hi We have a primary school who's student users are plagued by 'login challenges' when trying to log in to Google Classroom. These login challenges look on the face of it like 2FA prompts as they often (but not always) ask for a mobile phone number which they send a code to, but unlike 2FA you can enter any mobile phone number as it seems the challenge is just to determine that you are a real person with a mobile phone, and perhaps create an audit trail of who who has accessed the account. It's possible to disable login challenges for a particular user for 10 minutes via the admin centre, but it is not possible to disable them entirely. It is obviously not viable to request that primary aged students use a mobile phone to log in to Google Classroom, and I've not seen this issue at any other schools. There was a password breach at the school in question, but all the passwords were changed and student accounts deleted and re-created since then. Looking at the audit logs I can't see any more attempts to log on from the other side of the world since that was identified and resolved - though I would not 100% trust that I have interrogated the logs in exactly the right way. This is the only thing I can think of that would make this school subject to this problem when others are not. The problem did go away for a while after the accounts were deleted and re-created, but now it has returned. Most recently a child has received the slightly different login challenge message of: Which does not allow them to log in at all, and while I have tried following the step to temporarily disable login challenge and log them in, the problem returns again after the 10 minutes is up. Does anyone have any experience of this, or suggestions of what we could try?

What is the perfect MAT O365 setup? This is a question for anyone who supports O365 across a MAT or has been thinking about the best way of doing this. If you were starting from the ground up, what works well? what would you do differently? what lessons have you learned along the way? The MAT who have asked me to look into this are already using O365 between 2 schools, but want to make sure that the decisions they make now are not going to cause problems further down the line. Currently they have subdomains for each school in a single tenancy. They are in the format school.MAT.com. They also have users who work across the MAT who use MAT.com as their domain. There is currently no synchronisation between each schools on-prem AD based domains and O365. A few of the questions that spring to mind are: - What is the best way to sync multiple legacy domains with a MAT O365 setup? - How might this look further down the line if the MAT wants to move to a single Azure AD across all sites and do away with the legacy domains in each school? - What would the process be for a new school joining the MAT? - What would the process be if a school left the MAT? - What should the potential autonomy of IT support in each school look like? I.e. if there is a network manager in one school, how much or how little of the MAT's O365 setup should they be able to manage Vs a centralised administrator? - What does it look like when users move between schools? Both as a permanent move and on a peripatetic basis? It strikes me that there are a lot of potential compromises that might be seen as beneficial in the short term, but which will become bigger limitations further down the line. The option of short term pain for long term gain may be more desirable. Hopefully your thoughts on this can for a useful resource for anyone else who is on this path...Thanks in advance Stu

My favourite response to the stripey printing issue from a teacher who was printing photos of the children in her class: "Oh, I assumed it was a safeguarding feature you'd put on our systems" ...do you ever feel like some people think you're cleverer than you are?

Very relieved to hear there is a fix on the way, but out of interest, has anyone found any decent alternatives for printing contact sheet style in the way that the photo printing wizard allows?
