  1. I paid around £65 for the test this September, £40 to hire my instructors car for two hours and lost £80 because I had to take a day off work to take the test. Good job I passed or I would have been livid! Two days before the test the DSA rang me and asked if they could put my test an hour back to 2:30. Then, on the morning of the test (phoned me at 8am) they then asked/told me that the test would have to be at 3:30! Right at the school run! Cheeky buggers.

    broadband

I've heard good things about BeThere. I went with Virgins 20mb fibre optic in the end because I couldn't be bothered with BT and just wanted my phone, tv and internet from one supplier.
  3. Sky really tried to get people to leave Virgin Media and join Sky just because they were the only people airing it. Im so glad they've realised that you can't use those tactics to get viewers, especially in a high speed broadband and BitTorrent world. I'm looking forward to the new series but I do feel like Im getting dragged along by Losts inability to give closure on some issues. I love the show but I want some answers! I think that the "sickness" they talk about on the island messes with peoples memories and perception of time. They've hinted at this a few times in the last series and it could be their ticket to explain away alot of stuff. "Oh it was just in his/their head/s" I sincerly hope this isn't the case as it would be like saying "And then I woke up and it was aaaall a dream." I'm gonna re-watch the last series soon though to try and catch up and I just remembered that Ben moved the whole island and was transported accross the world in the last episode! Wtf is up with that?

    TV's

I bought a Samsung 32" full HD LCD [[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE32A457C1DX-LCD-Freeview-tuner/dp/B00179WGP0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228241252&sr=1-3]Very similar to this model[/ame]] last year and I've had no trouble at all. Even considering stopping the £5 a month insurance from Curry's, but you know what will happen as soon as I do that... Overall I've been very pleased with it. 360 games look fantastic and the DVD up-scaling breathes new life into old DVDs (but that’s a console thing). Standard Def TV varies depending on the channel but the ghosting/trailing experienced with LCD is minimal and you don't really notice it after a couple of days. I'd recommend Samsung LCD and if I was shopping around for one now and I would look for one with a wireless connection to stream stuff straight off the network.

    Left4Dead

Same here. I can't really justify spending £35 on a game when I've got bills and christmas to think about.. Been playing the demo on the Xbox almost everyday to get my hord fix.
