  1. I am afraid that you can't be the Data Protection Officer for the school you work in. The DPO has to be independent of the school staff and IT team. Otherwise you are signing off your own security, and handling complaints about your own issues. Possibly a Governor could have the role, if you have one with the right background, and they don't have another role which involves accessing or using personal data. The ICO will certainly not accept a teacher or IT staff member being a DPO. You are disqualified on both counts. Unless you give up your teaching post and IT work you can't be the DPO.
  2. Hi, I am Ian. I am the Network Manager at Ivel Valley School, Biggleswade. I am the sole technical person in the School, so I end up dealing with all sorts of things. I sing in a choir, and play guitar in a rock band.
