  1. I run the EdgeSwitch in my home lab, all is good except that the switch does not support well with DAC cable.
  2. Your patch cord is multimode? How about your module? Single-mode or multimode? If your single-mode, you have to use single-mode patch cord.

  4. I got all my optics for home use from fs.com. The compatibility of hpe modules is picky, but the J9152As I got works with no issues.
  5. All my optics are from fs.com. Their modules is far more cheaper and quality is also good. They built a new Seattle warehouse, the shipping is fast. And I heard last month they started provide free shipping to the US.
  6. As all the guys mentioned, SFP module is hot-pluggable, which means that you don't have to get power off when plug it into switch.

  8. UBNT switch is a good try. Very cheap and reliable.
  9. You can try Ubiquiti switch. I have changed all my Cisco setup to UBNT in my home network.
  10. Are you sure the modules that you have bought are compatible with the UBNT switch?
