  1. Yep, we're having huge woes with these guys at the moment. We transitioned from SIMs to Arbor this year, and over 2 months in and they have still failed to link Arbor with Biostore / Fastrak. All it needs is a username and password - 2 months of being on their case whilst staff, students and parents are on ours. Despite several emails and promises to call back, they have failed monumentally. Absolutely abysmal. We are also having the same experience since Xerox bought out Altodigital. Capitalism at work.
  2. Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way (preferably via the admin center) to see what storage a user is taking up and where it's happening? I have a user allocated 50Gb of space, and I can easily see that only 0.5GB is used in emails, and about 1GB for onedrive, so I'm now trying to figure out where the remainder is being used. After various searches and a call to MS (who didn't seem to have a clue), I'm wondering if others might have found a way to view sharepoint or teams content usage? Happy to try via powershell too. Thanks!
  3. Yes, sadly it's out of our price range, and we don't like the 'per device plan' - makes expansion more hassle. We're going to just move back to V8 - it's a much simpler solution for us and we never had issues with it - we just hoped the upgrade would actually be an upgrade and not all this extra work!
  4. We recently moves from V8 to V9 - it seems like an awful lot more maintenance with approval, getting rid of duplicates, setting up access hierarchy etc. I can see how they've restructured the overall UI and like the idea, but the amount of time I've spent on this (particularly now that we need to be more reliant on remote control), I'm starting to wonder if I should be asking for a refund. The support team are responsive, but I'm really disappointed with how it's going at the moment.
  5. Ok, I got a little further and figured out that if it runs as a service, the connection works fine. Unfortunately, I need it to run on demand to prevent the students looking at screens whilst staff are unaware, and we also need to have to have a view only password set. The only way I can get this to work in app mode, is by manually setting the 'session sharing' setting to 'always shared......', (which then also complains about passwords not being set), and despite trying to set in both the MST, or as an installation property, it doesn't install 'always shared' set. Any hints? It seems like I'm almost there - but missing something!
  6. Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm having a lot of issues trying to create / customise the MST to work the way I want it. I plan to deploy this to all our classroom 'teacher' PCs, which would only allow student(s) to connect if the teacher actively runs TightVNC server (so not to be run as a service) The student who wants to use this has a macbook, so I'm using the realvnc 'vncconnect' client, which I've tested and works fine as a viewer. I can get to the point where it installs as a server only, and not as a service, with only the relevant server shortcut available. I have successfully set up a view only connection password, but it seems each time I install the TightVNC server, the necessary setting for session sharing (always treat as shared) doesn't apply, and is stuck on 'Disconnect existing clients......' - preventing the client from connecting (is fine when set manually) (I have tried using an MST just to create the needed shortcuts, whilst using MSI property switches to set passwords, and I have tried configuring fully through MST (which often throws up errors)). What I did notice is that lots of registry settings specific to TightVNC seem to stick, even after uninstallation - is there a method to properly clean up the installation settings so that each time I try a new MST, I know I'm working from a blank template? I've also tried amending the above MST (and applied it to the matching v2.5 version of TightVNC), but it has the same result (plus I'd really like to be running the latest version). I've been through the PDF documentation for 2.5 and 2.8.27, and followed the guidelines for MSI property settings in the PDF on their website, but I can only assume I'm creating a conflict somewhere that prevents this setting from sticking. Is anyone able to offer a little help on this? Our hard-of-seeing student is having difficulty in lessons without this! Thanks.
  7. As the subject says, I'm having a great deal of trouble installing profiles (with key extensions in particular) directly from OSX server. I see that the enrolment profile's SCEP certificate mentions servername.local, when I clearly need it to be server.fqdn so that the subsequent profiles refer to the server correctly making it more trustworthy. Further to this, is it possible to sign profiles using a windows CA, or even manage all required OSX server ones this way? I'm really not great at certificates, but if anyone has some useful pointers or ideally a guide for this scenario, I would be most grateful. I previously installed everything using scripts, but anything 10.14 onwards throws up issues with the key extensions part. Thanks all
  8. Hi again, Thanks very much for the sub/superscript options. It seems like I'm met with a couple of issues when testing it, though. If I select some text, and set superscript once, then it's fine , but I wasn't sure how to unselect it - I assumed it would be to select it again, but it just gets even smaller, and errors out when it eventually reaches a value of 0, and continues to do so if selecting either sub / superscript. I can't see how to get the font back to normal size after using either. On a sidenote - if I type in normal, followed by subscript, then copy a bit of the normal text and paste it on the end (in an attempt to continue in the normal size), it seems to go up a size, but not as 'normal' Hope that makes sense! Thanks again.
  9. Hi, We've been using this great bit of software for a while now, but we have just had a student complain about having lost marks in her mocks because she was unable to type in superscript (I'm actually assuming this is more of a concern that has been raised and are actually more worried about losing marks in the real exam). I'm not sure how much of an undertaking this would be for you, but we would be eternally grateful (and would donate again) if superscript could be added as a feature. Regards, Paul B
  10. A big thanks from me for this too. I did have to use the other two settings after rolling out 1709 as an update from SCCM.
  11. Not to worry, Science Scope have got back to me with a very helpful solution.
  12. Hi all, I have a query about the science scope software used for measuring timing (physics related measurement of velocities, acceleration etc using attached USB-Serial hardware with sensors). Basically, the java-based 'Logbook Timing' software no longer works alongside the latest versions of Java (hangs after more than 2 tests are done), so they kindly gave me an installer to an older bit of software called datadisc timing. Sadly, this seems to be much worse in the fact it doesn't run under restricted student accounts, and I'm not getting much response from a further email enquiring about their mention of an updated version of the aforementioned being created. So, my questions are: Does anyone else use either bit of software under a windows 10 environment and if so, how did you get it working? Are there any alternatives that will work with the science scope hardware? Thanks all!
  13. I just download the new version into the same content folder then tell SCCM to detect the main exe by a date greater than the previous version (and update deployment type content of course). I also use this script to detect if it's needs a fresh install or not: IF EXIST "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\6a0c9611291d45bb9226980209917c3d\Fusionlauncher.exe" "%~dp0\Fusion 360 Admin Install.exe" --process update --quiet IF NOT EXIST "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\6a0c9611291d45bb9226980209917c3d\Fusionlauncher.exe" "%~dp0\Fusion 360 Admin Install.exe" --quiet Works well for me, but still a pain to have to do this every 6-8 weeks!
  14. I actually made some progress with this issue (but forgot I posted here too). There's an option to get this working again, but it comes at a sacrifice. People are now theorising it's down to 'list folder contents' permission on the folder above the project. https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/49763/access-denied-when-attempting-to-run-under-the-deb.html?childToView=123278#comment-123278 In a nutshell (for now), you need to enable 'use managed compatibility mode' in the debugging>general section of VS2017 options.
  15. Hi all, We currently have an issue with students and staff being unable to run their own VS projects when saved to a network drive. When they open the project, it's fine, but upon execution a popup gives an 'access denied' error. Seems ok as a domain admin, but don't know what permission is preventing access to which file/folder. They have full access permissions to their folders, and we've tried many things to no avail. At the moment, the workaround is to save to USB and work from there, but we can't allow this during their set coursework/exam periods. Has anyone had this issue and any ideas about how to resolve it? Basically I'm open to suggestions, as we're really quite stumped! Thanks anyone!
