Thanks Luke. I found a workaround. Initially I was struggling to navigate around the small white screen and I got stuck where I could not scroll down far enough to click the accept button.However, if you click on the white text area of the small box, the accept button activates and becomes 'clickable'It saved me having to rebuild the entire room!

We have built a completed Windows 10 2019 LTSC computer. Works fine, software installed fine.Everything looks good and works well.We then use our Omni Clone machine to clone out the new drivesWhen the initial boot occurs, it boots into the workgroup - All fine.However after running sysprep, and the reboot we then get a white pseudo welcome screen in the top left hand corner, that does not allow us to Navigate and complete the post sysprep setup.I have tried running sysprep from Windows, and via the command line with the same result.You can get into audit mode from this white screen, but running sysprep again from audit mode just results in the same white screen after reboot.Any ideas why this is please? This has become massively frustrating as I am trying to get a room built for the new term!Thanks in advance for any help!

Computers were Windows 7 yesterday and Windows 10 today.Thousands of threads on the Internet about this issue, so hopefully will find a fix. Strange how the rollback does not even engage though.

Hi guys. We came in today to find that Windows 7 has updated itself to Windows 10 overnight.No prompts, no confirmation, no nothing.The kicker is the rollback to Windows 7 while 'clickable' does nothing?Any ideas on how to roll these back to Windows 7 without a rebuild please?Also no idea how MS can do something like that :(Many thanks in advance.

Kenny, I also read that article - Do you think it means other versions of office will potentially no longer run on LTSC or that it just won't support updating them any longer?

Thanks for the advice Rob.I downloaded the new LTSC build and I have been pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews online.So far it is running all our school software, including some obscure coding software we use. Start menu is working a treat and the APPS folder is GONE!Need to roll out Impero to see if that works but so far things are looking pretty positive.

I have installed a test version of LTSC and this I think is going to work well for us.Just need to install our core software to make sure everything works well and get a start menu working.Many thanks for this suggestion

No we do not. It is being placed in there by Windows 10 even though the folder does not exist in the redirected start menu.

Here are the settings we have tried.

It really is a pain and seems as though MS may have recently changed how the apps work.I tried the power shell script that used to remove apps, but it now errors and says the app can't be uninstalled for all users.Our classic shell is redirecting correctly and working, but it is randomly adding that Apps folder.

We are essentially trying to remove all the apps so students can't access the rubbish Microsoft now pre installs. On a side note, this is concerning that students can even run these things as we have a GPO policy that allows only specified programs.Regardless, at the very least I am trying to hide the shortcuts.I have tried the following:Redirected start menu using XML and Classic shell - The menus work, but the Apps folder is somehow added to this.I have tried various local GPO settings as well but no change in the result.I have tried a powershell script that is meant to uninstall all the apps, but this seemed user specific so did not achieve what we needed for all users and the shortcut folder was still there.I have been trying solutions over 2 days and getting a little frustrated why something so simple in Windows 7 is a nightmare in Windows 10!I have attached 2 photos taken with my phone due to the screenshot software restrictions on the Exam test account.Many thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!Jason

HI Bentley.We occasionally have issues with the update manager.I have found by restarting these services it usually irons out the problem.In services, try Sophos MCS client first, and if this does not work try Sophos MCS Agent.Good luck :)Jason

Hi All. We have a Windows 2008 R2 server acting as a VPN server. Everything has worked correctly for a few years until last week. (We had a power failure during the half term, but other than that no problems)The VPN connection is still working and seems to connect correctly, but after clients connect on they are not being assigned an IP address, so can't access the resources. The VPN connection being run on the client laptops is using the default VPN Windows 7 software.I can confirm that DHCP/DNS is working correctly internally with all machines getting a IP within our range.I am going to contact our ISP and see if they have changed anything without us knowing that may be stopping the traffic.Has anyone ever experienced this and if so any trouble shooting ideas please?Thank you in advance for any advice.Jason

Hi everyone.I am having an issue that I would appreciate any advice on if possible please.We are running a room of N Computing L300's on a Windows 2008 server.The teacher is keen to try and use the bbc micro bit, andt while the unit gets power when plugged into the L300 terminal via the USB cable, the server system does not see it.If you however try a standard USB drive, it works perfectly so I am sure the USB ports are working correctly.Has anyone experienced this and if so come up with a solution?Many thanks in advance for any help!RegardsJason

Good morning everyone. Our 1960's bell system decided to die yesterday and a repair looks unlikely due to the age of the system. Does anyone use, or know of a reliable system where a lesson change alert or bell can be displayed or played on system computers? We think this may be the most cost effective solution for the interim (that may have to become a permanent solution!) Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi everyone. With budget cuts plaguing virtually all schools I thought it would be interesting to see IT staffing and equipment numbers. Here is a little template with our rough numbers: Student Numbers: 900 Staff Numbers: 85 IT Staff: 1 Servers: (virtual/physical) 10 Computers: (desktop/terminals) 350 Laptops: 30 We all of course have far more responsibilities than just this but seeing a ballpark figure of number of IT staff per student/staff would be interesting. It may even convince your SLT to get that extra tech that you have been asking for! (and I have been )

The collection has been set for just staff to access resources. I found this account in AD, but wonder why a member of staff would use it and not their own login. Definitely disabling that one to find out who is using it! Thanks

Morning everyone. Staff have been using the remote apps and it seems to be well received and working correctly. I checked the remote App connections and see staff usernames, but also a domain\visitor account, which perplexes me slightly as one should (as I understand things) only be able to log on with a username that is authenticated via AD. Is this visitor account a cause for concern? Many thanks

The first screen shot is exactly what I am looking to achieve. I have just made published explorer.exe to see if the GPO is working, and when I run it I can see the mappings on a non domain PC, so the GPO is applying correctly. Almost there I think! Thanks for the help Steve
