About Brattcave

  1. Hi, I've attached a screenshot here as upload file function reports an error when I try and attach the .RptDef file. It's only a short report - I've filtered students by my reg group. The main focus is 'students' Re 'Dealing with missing marks' - Copying manually from the web browser (IE) output was a pain. It copied some hidden spaces into some excel fields which I eventually identified as ASCII code 160 - 'non-breaking spaces'! So doing this within the SIMS report would be preferable. I can't get 'Dealing with missing marks' to export in a useful fashion for excel. A lot of work to get a seemingly simple report! Thanks a lot for your help - it's much appreciated!
  2. ...Also the exporting options for dealing with missing marks makes for a very messy export! I can't seem to find a way to export this in a way it can be used in excel. From Print the only way I can use this is the 'web browser' option - then copy manually to a spreadsheet. The XML options produce a very messy picture in excel!
  3. Hi - thanks for your reply. Dealing with missing marks does give me mostly what I need... But then I have to drag it into excel to decipher the 'group' column to give me the full name of the subjects rather than just abbreviations. I was hoping to exert a little more control through a report. I'll keep chipping away - there must be a way... Cheers.
  4. Hi, A teacher here just recently going down the rabbit hole that is the SIMS report dictionary... I'm tryin go produce an attendance report to show "N" marks and have most of the information I need from the 'Lesson Marks' sub report but.. Is there any way to add information on which period the student has missed? Ideally the report would look like this: (I have all this apart from Period) Name, Group Name, Mark, Date, Class, Subject, Teacher, Period I've filtered the date range and mark type to show what I need - but there is no 'period' field in Lesson marks and when I include it from elsewhere it drags in a LOT of other data... Any help/pointers or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Brett
