Thank you Oaktech - I will do that with the next client. How about the server? Any idea why its connection would suddenly show 'Network 2 - no internet access' instead of its usual 'x.local - internet access' ? Also, I have noticed that when I ping the servers with their name, I will get an IP back or MAC address. Shouldn't they reply with a name? Do I have some sort of internal DNS issues? I think something is up - but the Server Manager dashboards all read green.

On the clients: I'll go into the adapter/connection properties/settings, goto IPV4, check that the ip is set to DHCP and then manually load my DNS server address into the DNS space. That seemed to work at least once. Sorry, not sure what Direct Access is..don't think so. I'm a relative newbie in that this network is a lot bigger than any I've managed so far. And we use AD which I didn't before.

I'm having this issue wherein I try to join clients to the domain and they place themselves on this Network 2 connection. Really maddening. I have two domains and was only having the issue with one and thought I solved it my making sure the DNS server address was added to the connection's properties (as opposed to DHCP). But now my other domain has it as well - I try to add clients to the domain and they go to Network 2 - public network. AND this morning I notice my server has the notification that it is on Network 2 and has no Internet access, but it does. I logged on and was able to get out. All shares seem available and no one is screaming...except me. What is going on? I have tried disabling and re-enabling the NIC. (Note to self: don't so this over an RDP connection). But haven't done it on THIS server because the last time I tried that and had to restart the VM didn't come back. It was Grace of God and some help from people here that I got it back. Any ideas? Why would the server do this? TX

Thank you for your swift reply. Between your info and the previous admin, I believe I was able to restore/import the system. The desktops and shares are back...so I think I'm good.

The console opens but all I see is a replica of another server (that's being backed up to here): HyperV Manager shows physical machine on left. Right pane has a replica ( I would expect that)...but that's it. No virtual server. Don't know where to look for files....sorry haven't had any chance to learn HyperV.

Another nightmare. I had an issue with a server, restarted the server, it has Hypervisor and machines on it. Now the server doesn't show up in Hypervisor...at all. I'm done. Any idea what's going on?

Will it wipe all settings? I mean I know my DHCP server, etc. so if it's just that easy as entering all those types of parameters I could probably do it rather quickly. I 'm just afraid ruining the installation and not having any time to figure it out. I inherited the place and it's been on fire ever since. TX

Driving me crazy. This should be working and apparently was up until the previous admin left. Looked through much of the documentation, forums, googling, etc. No one seems to have my exact problem: (I register the host, create the task) Client boots via PXE TFTP works connects with FOG I watch scrolling displays from FOG Partlcone does not start. I get a cursor - it boots again in to a small FOG menu wherein I can choose some options. So I tried all of them. They all end up rebooting back into the cursor and ....No Operating System Found. It apparently wipes (or sets the wipe) but never images. I tried a restart of FOG, restarted the MySql and TFTP services (because I got the "database schema out of date" message) but it doesn't work. Previous admin says it worked without issue for him and he did nothing special to prep machines. ANY HELP greatly appreciated, I don't have the chops to fresh install to Ubuntu (or the time now) and I got to get these machines imaged. A free bottle of booze awaits you if you can help and come by Baltimore any time soon.

HI - Preston here. IT Tech for 15 years but now a new IT admin with a steep learning curve ahead. Working for medium-sized facility, two domains and very little AD experience. No documentation left by last guy, only outdated topology map. Trying to get FOG to work!
