Oktopus bundled with the BenQ's natively opens files, as I'm sure the Lynx software with Clevertouch can. IMHO both brands offer a more feature rich display product.

you'll see a lot more practical uses for the android OS coming out that are more than for apps alone. BenQ showed at BETT a few of these including; OTA firmware updates, wireless display and broadcast, RFID sensors for user login and pen colour change, as well as proximity sensors, signage software, webcams, media playing... all this needs the android system to run on.

We've started including Oktopus with our panels as another option for these situations. It will shortly support the native opening of SMART files (currently imports), so a good choice if you don't want to relicense SMART but need to keep your files. Hi All, Steljes Ltd were the warranty provider for BenQ’s interactive panels, since their Administration the warranty should default (will be the administrator decision not ours) backto the RTB (return to base) warranty they were sold to Steljes with. However BenQ have taken the decision to honour the onsite warranty supplied by Steljes Ltd on all BenQ product supplied before their Administration. Hope this helps alleviate any concern. can I ask what BenQ model? most of our education models have 5 year warranties, and the UST are particularly robust. this video might be of interest

cheaper doesn't necessarily mean worse. a lot of effort has been put into making the screens suitable for a wide range of demands that may include, depending on brand, 20+ point touch, over-the-air updates, built in Android, low blue light panel, extra connectivity, Wi-Fi, software suites, anti-bacteria hard glass, wider range of sizes, RFID sensors, multiple pen colour recognition, hand gestures, I could go on.... but hopefully you get the idea that's it's more than just a screen to replace an interactive whiteboard.

~as mentioned by others, your existing Notebook licence is only for use on the original SMART hardware, replacing that you'll need a new licence. though as many of the third party screens available are cheaper and often with better spec, it's worth comparing. FWIW BenQ now also offer Oktopus software that converts and runs legacy SMART files.

I would also suspect not enough signal power from the laptop over the long cable run. did you try to toggle between screen 2 only and dual screen? sometimes gfx outputs don't like both screens on. also if power settings on laptop based around mains or battery source.
