Hi recently I had 3 Laptops to setup. All running Win8. The plan was to create build one as I wanted it and make an image and deploy this image to the other 2. I had decided to use Clonezilla but I couldn't configure the Laptop to boot to CD (or anything other than the HDD for that matter). I noticed that it was using EUFI for booting. Does EUFI stop us from boot from another device? Soon I'm gonna have 15 Laptops to setup so I'd like to have a method in place. Many thanks

Hi, I'd like some guidance on giving primary school teachers remote access. I have an an external ip forwarded to 172.16.1.226 on port 443. The PDC sits on 172.16.1.2 and a secondary dc on 172.16.1.5. My first thoughts were to turn the SDC into a terminal server and change it's IP to 172.16.1.226 but 5 Cals were in the region of £600. Now I've turned my attentions to OpenVPN to give them remote access to their mapped drives but I can't get my head around what needs installing and where. I presume OpenVPN server needs to be installed on the 172.16.1.226 computer. This means my PDC would need to have 172.16.1.226. Or is there a way of forwarding traffic to 172.16.1.226:443 to 172.16.1.2:443 posibly using Smoothwall? Many thanks for offering any help.

DOS programs do suck. If it's a simple program I may rewrite it in VB but getting the printing working buys me some time. Thanks

Hi, We have had an admin XPP machine replaced by a Win7 Pro machine. The XPP machine had a DOS program printing to LPT1 when I tried the following on the Win7 machine:- net use LPT1: \\win7pc\printershare /persistent:yes the command completes but the DOS program doesn't print to the local printer attached to USB001. I've had a look at the config on the XPP machine and within the ports tab of printer properties, both LPT1 & USB ports are ticked which I didn't think was possible. Things yet to try:- 1) Look in BIOS for LPT settings. 2) Issue the NET USE command using elevated permissions. Any advice gratefully received Darren
