  1. Thank you Steve - yes at Exa we now have a number of solutions which can help with this. Please let me know if you would like any further information.
  2. Hi Owen, There are better and cheaper alternatives in my humble opinion. That a good technological solution for the monitoring of students is not in doubt - At Exa we are working with schools all over the country to facilitate a brilliant solution at an extremely cost effective price. If you would like me to get in touch please let me know. I will PM you further details. Regards, Damon
  3. Hi Nichola, We would be delighted to offer a quote for our services. There are so many variables when it comes to choosing a new service, but what is important is that you choose the right connection for your school. As an Internet Service Provider in our own rite, we own and run our own network, which you can imagine has many advantages !We designed and supply our own filtering which exists on every connection and is included in the cost. In addition to that we only supply our services primarily to education and also to some businesses - we do not sell to the residential marketplace. I will PM you some details. Many thanks for your interest.
  4. Hello pbad, Naturally we would be happy to provide a quote for your school. Your summation of the other services you may no longer have access to is correct. As with the above, we can replace your connectivity and filtering although with Exa everything is under one roof, as we provide our own, ever evolving Surfprotect solution. The CRISP issue is certainly a contentious one. Some schools have been told they would need to pay a large sum of money to retain access to this. However I am working with a number of Birmingham schools who are looking at various "work arounds" ! I would be happy to come and see you to discuss your requirements further. Kind regards, Damon
  5. Hi Mikkydoos ! Exa Networks have been supplying educational establishments with superior internet services since the late nineties ! I personally am familiar with the Birmingham area and have worked with quite a few schools there making the sometimes difficult transition to a new provider. We can offer all the help and support you will need along with providing the right solution for your needs - not just the most profitable for us ! I will PM you if I may, and can visit at your convenience. Regards, Damon
  6. Hi Steve, I cover the West Midlands area for Exa Education and am familiar with the educational landscape there. Exa are one of the longest standing ISP's in the country and have specialised in Education since the late nineties ! What IS important is that the schools needs are met and the relevant solutions suggested. If I may, I will PM you some details and would be happy to visit you at your convenience. Regards, Damon
  7. I think the prior posts have covered most of the considerations. As for staying with the devil you know, as you can also see there is a desire from schools for a sense of self determination and have a connection unreliant on the LA. Each school will have it's own reasons for this I am sure ! But you have also put your finger on a vital element - the seamless transition. I won't air any views about the school's current provision here - but would be happy to provide a quotation for our services, and can provide references from schools in your area who have made the move. With Exa you don't need much of a technical presence at the school as our outstanding support team cater for any level of expertise. I will PM you also. All the best.
  8. I agree with the point made above - It is wise to make the move to a company who specialise in broadband for education. Exa Networks have been supplying high quality services to schools across the UK for over thirteen years and as a genuine Internet Service Provider in our own rite, will in the future be helping some schools realise all the speed they require with the advent of our Darklight dark fibre packages. What is important is that the package you choose is tailored to the school's needs - not the needs of the provider ! Every school is as individual as every child who attends it and having been the chosen provider for many schools for many years we understand this.Having visited the county extensively over the past six months I appreciate fully the challenges being faced by many schools and what appear to be limited and sometimes pressured alternatives. We as a company are committed to providing the right solutions for schools from both a budgetary and connectivity perspective. As with the above we would be happy to have a conversation with you to identify what you need. PM me for more details and I wish you all the best. And I don't have a quote from Highlander ... the best one has already been taken !!
  9. As stated in other threads, we have had substantial success when it comes to helping schools move away from their current provider. We moved our first school away from Link2ICT over five years ago and have had many more since. The conversion to academy status along with the change of broadband supplier may seem extremely challenging. All the more reason to choose a provider who not only provides the most valuable solution, but who have a distinguished record of customer service. If you would like to speak to any of our schools in your area, or indeed need any assistance at all, please PM me.
