  1. +1 to this. I'm doing the same.
  2. Regarding the apps not working / needing to sign into iTunes. I was having this issue. It happened to most but not all apps that happened to be on the macbook that itunes had downloaded. This was using a normal apple ID. Since signing out of AC2 with that ID and signing into it using a VPP account, any apps i've installed have been ok. Good luck. This product is a nightmare.
  3. No worries at all, thank you for all your help so far. You've confirmed what I believed to be correct so that's great. Situation I have now is that there's a variety of free and paid for apps locally on the mac. I can send them over to the ipads easily but when they run they ask for an apple ID. Looking at the apps in itunes I can see they have been bought with an apple ID somebody at the school has setup. It's not the VPP apple ID though. Regarding the free apps if I look to buy them via the VPP site it says: "Managed Distribution: Free apps are only available in bulk using managed distribution. Assign apps by using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution, such as the latest version of Apple Profile Manager. You retain ownership of apps which allows you to revoke and reassign them as needed." So does that mean I need to set that up? Or can it be downloaded and rolled out via AC2?
  4. Great info, thank you. More questions (apologies) The ipads currently have some profiles on them. Is it possible to export these locally to the mach so I can add them to others, or even edit the profiles, or even see what they have in them? I've now logged into the store on AC2 with the VPP account, it pops up teling me I have to allow AC2 to mange the VPP account, that's good. I've not purchased any apps yet but if I click on the add app icon it tells me that the VPP account is being managed by another MDM solution. I'm close.
  5. Hi Thanks for the replies. The school has no purchased anything yet, but I need to make sure I know what I'm doing before they purchase This is what appears when we find an app to buy. https://i.gyazo.com/389d6a097c625ec70f2beb8615fe0f6b.png We do not have users of individual ipads. There's just a trolly load that's shared around the school. Does each ipad need it's own apple ID? Or can they be made to share a single ID? The school has no MDM in place. Thanks Oh, needs to be done by Monday (thanks head teacher!!)
  6. Hi, 1st time poster on these forums and 1st time user of Apple configuration. I've inherited a job in a school that requires administering their ipads, they have a mac book (el capitan) running AC2. They want to buy some new apps and roll them out. That seems simple enough....however I can't find anywhere to add the VPP spreadsheet for multiple purchased apps. Any help would be appreciated Many Thanks
