  1. Hi I had a similar problem and it was caused by the students/staffs redirected start menu from our Windows 7 GPO, set up a windows 8 OU and put the windows 8.1 clients in there, created a loop back that redirected everyone's start menu to the local profile, no roaming or mandatory profiles takes about 40-45 seconds first logon on a windows 8.1 Tablet over the wireless, then it is really fast the next time it is used. Works for me for now as I only have a 30 windows 8.1 tablets not sure if it would be useful with a full roll out, I have tried to export a start screen layout but that is not taking, so the desktop needs shortcuts to needed programs, but the desktop redirection to a network share still works as in windows 7 so OK.
  2. Hi 2003 RC2 has file screens that does this, I think!
  3. Hi thanks for the reply, no not using NT4 just that kb describes the problem and the reg solution it describes works for XP. I have manually logged on to a maccine exported the key with out the stubpath entry, then logged on to another machine deleted the reg key and imported the new one and it worked fine! I am just wondering if I just add the key without deleting the exsiting one will it still work? Might try it tomorow! Thanks again Jack

  8. Hi SYNACK, Thanks for the help so far, I have added the sub-interfaces as eth0-1 eth0-2 and given them these addresses 10.156.190.245 and 10.106.190.245 they only cable is the eth port on the rouiter which is plugged into one of my switches. I can ping from the router to devices on each network. I have not figured out how to add the routes with the cli, I will try that tomorow, the Web based GUI is flaky. If its ok I will repost tomorow with how far I have got? Thanks Jack
  9. Hi thanks for the reply, if I have 10.156.176.15 255.255.240.0 for one interface and 10.106.176.15 for the second interface, same mask I have 10.156.176.20 as a PC and I have its default gateway as 10.156.176.15, in the router setup I have for static routes:- network IP Address Netmask Next Hop interface what would you expect to enter here to allow the tow networks to ping each other? Thanks
  10. Hi no I have not configured any routes or protocols, what would I be looking for? to configure these options. This is were I am getting lost. I can add the static route, I have tried 10.106.176.0/255.255.240.0 with next hop as the 10.106.176.15 interface but I still can not ping anything.
  11. I have an Allied Telesis AR415S, and I am trying to set it up to route between to subnets "router on a stick". Allied Telesis tells me to add an ip address to the eth0 port for each subnet, so eth0 10.156.176.15 255.255.240.0 eth0-1 10.106.176.15 255.255.240.0 And thats it there is no more config to do. Now if I go to PC1 with address 10.156.176.20 and try to ping the 10.106.176.15 port that works fine, but I can not ping or connect to anything else on that address range? except I have a server with to static addesses that is on both ranges and I can ping that? Help what am I doing wrong? should this work? Thanks Jack
