  1. I *believe* there is going to be further guidance released by DFE on this in September, which will clarify how banding might work with the new scores. Been advised not to 'make up' our own in the meantime, so for the moment the KS2 data for 2016 is all but useless.
  2. Anyone else unsure which potential ex-students are going to be included in the performance tables this year? I know we had the Shadow data from last year but that doesn't tell me a lot about who to expect in the cohort this time round. I'm trying to work it out myself but it's not going too well.
  3. I second the facebook data managers forum , it's great. If you do exams too there is also an exam officers group. I have a twitter account for work only, I don't tweet but I do follow people. I've had to trim the list right down though as I find sometimes keeping up with everything takes too much time. A couple that Emm didn't mention that I enjoy - @edudatalab @miss_mcinerney
  4. Hi fellow Birmingham data manager! have you joined the data manager forum?
  5. Is it this one? SSAT | National Data Managers' Award I've thought about doing it, has anyone else done it?
  6. No, it gives the raw marks and the whole level TA, you have to work out the fine points/levels yourself Which is why there is so much confusion I expect. I seem to spend half my life on Ks2 and fiddling with spreadsheets to try and get the fine levels.
  7. Matrep looks great @Bev - hopefully it's just what we need. And it's cheaper than the system we have now. Thanks for that, I was beginning to get a headache with the seeming lack of options for a CMIS school - I was getting so desperate I'm meeting a consultant to talk about developing reports in CMIS tomorrow.
  8. Thanks both, much appreciated, I shall take a look.
  9. You're too kind. Thanks for the welcome
  10. Sorry I should have put that in my post! We use Facility CMIS, there seem to be a few SIMS-based things around but v little for CMIS.
  11. Or rather what system do your teachers use to write reports for parents? The system we are currently using finishes at the end of July and we need an alternative. I have heard good things about Go4Schools but are there any others? We don't have time to build something ourselves as it needs to be up and running before the summer holidays!
  12. We use SISRA Analytics too. We signed up when it was still Online - six months later they brought out the Analytics pilot and we moved straight over as we didn't have much data on the system. I have to say they are like two completely different packages, Analytics is light years better than Online from both an admin perspective and teachers' perspective. They didn't get on with Online but Analytics is a different story.
  13. @X-13 Surely not, I bet there's some better ones somewhere. I did spend quite a lot of time thinking of something pun-tastic though @CAM - thank you, I had no idea that forum even existed. Just had a quick look - yes, it's full of all the exciting things about my job!
  14. Hi I'm Laura, I'm a data manager and timetabler at a large secondary in Birmingham. Nice to meet you all.
