  1. You could just set the home folder path in in AD under the profiles tab then configure the redirection via GPO - remember to untick "give exclusive rights" Connect \\unc path to root folder\%Username% - you can highlight all users in the OU and click properties, once you put in the path and click apply it will create a home folder for each user.
  2. That's a shame, Essentials was quite good for those that didn't need full SCCM
  3. Hi Guys, Do Microsoft have an alternative to System Center Essentials now? I cant seem to find a version newer 2010 Cheers
  4. To me a watch is something to tell the time, date and to look good on my wrist, I don't want to be able to read my emails. I would rather spend 1K+ on a nice Longines that looks good on my wrist and wont keel over and die if it gets wet. One of the blokes at work has the Samsung smart watch and if gets a phone call then reaches for his phone to answer it so its not on loudspeaker. Smart watches have their place but i'm personally yet to see the benefits.
  5. Not that this is much help but AFAIK this has been a feature of all RM networks since Connect 2.4
  6. ive had this issue where the usb connection between pc and board is longer than 2m. Newer PC's dont seem to punch out as much power from the usb ports as old ones did. You could try looking in the bios to see if there are settings you can change. alternatively install active/powered usb leads
  7. i have found with windows 7 onwards i needed to add the dns suffix to the network adapters for both domains (if using the FQDN you dont need to). I also just use conditional forwarders rather than forward lookup zones.
  8. when you ipconfig /all does it show two default gateways? if you have apple software installed and the adapter doesn't connect to your network first the apple service enters a route of 0.0.0.0. I've seen this on a couple of machines that haven't been able to get on the net. route delete 0.0.0.0 normally brings it all back to life
  9. I think that any DX SLR will be fine, alot of the time its not the kit that makes the photo its the person behind it that makes the photo. I am of the Nikon camp myself and have a D5100 which is great for what i use it for, you can spend and spend on kit
  10. @RabbieBurns yes you can, just add the licence file.
  11. not done it with powershell but here is the commands I use to export: netsh dhcp server \\ scope 192.168.1.0 dump> c:\dhcp.txt to import : netsh exec c:\dhcp.txt
  12. I love the HTC M series will be getting the M9 shortly. They are expensive but I love the build quality.
  13. ok, when the exe is run does the process show in task manager? Also does an icon appear in the notification area?
  14. is the gpo applying correctly have checked with rsop? Are you running a RM network or Vanilla?
  15. is there a restriction which stops exe's running from CD's? the initial drive with the application on mounts as a CD drive on most Kingston encrypted drives I think
  16. Are you trying to do this via remote desktop? I had odd issue a while ago where I couldn't create users, there was more than one RD session open on the server with the management console open. I ended all sessions and created a new one and everything seemed to work again. :o/
  17. Sorry the readme in question was left over from the 1.4 install in the same directory, so my post was no help (
  18. taken from the scratch readme: Customizing the default language Scratch starts using the language specified by the "locale" of the computer, but this can be overridden. In Scratch.ini file add the line: Language = [iSO-639-2 code] Note that this setting will be changed whenever the user changes the language setting (if the Scratch.ini file is writeable) so that Scratch will start up in the language that was last in use. Hope this helps
