  1. I too am trying unsuccessfully to download this software - I have heard such good reviews about it I am eager to download. Can you tell me where or when I can download please Thank you
  2. Shame they didn't share the DB fix instead! Okay if you have a small number of staff, but when you have about 150 sims user editing every single member is unreasonable! Nick above has been in touch so hopefully things will move in the right direction starting with this visual to show you what year you are in, after the next upgrade.
  3. Thanks Nick, I don't have a case number as I just went through our local authority help desk, but I will forward my trail to you. I understand the reasoning for not defaulting back for a very small number of staff (timetabler, SIMS managers etc. who deal with curriculum management) but there are very few staff who ever work outside their academic year so a reset button would be great! Glad to hear that this year identifier is coming in though, that will definitely help
  4. We are Bob, and while it doesn't affect day to day usage it affects reports with predefined 'current' year filters - for example, 2 of our SLT were running that same Lesson Monitor attendance report with exact parameters and getting different figures, then I discovered one was in 2010.11 and one was in this year! I have also had reports where the year group of students has been displayed incorrectly (ie; last year's year groups) where there are predefined filters in the background Problem is, they don't know the data is wrong because they would never think to look at the AC year, or know if it would affect their report.
  5. Good suggestions, but I had already archived all but the last couple of years and people some people are in 2019.10!!!! We did think about the ini file as you said, but while it has an area for the NT6 it doesn't have it for the academic year - you would have thought Capita could build this in but our advice has been that we have to get every staff member to do this themselves ..... that'll work! Thanks though
  6. WOW:scared:!!!! Bit cheeky as the problems is a failing on their side to begin with! If they come back to me with anything free, I'll let you know!
  7. Hi there Does anybody know how to push all users into the correct academic year on SIMS by default, without having to log into every account separately. Across our staff we have most people on the wrong year! I am aware I can remove their permissions to change their own AC year, but this doesn't push them into the current year first, it locks them into the old year they are in, which is worse!! Can't believe their is no 'overide' facility for this. Any help gratefully received Maggie
  8. Thanks for all your help guys. Good News!! Overnight our 'windows' has installed a mammoth amount of updates and the machines that have been updated are no longer having this error --- Success Poor old SIMS was not to blame at all!
  9. Thanks Vikpaw Will do. Scary thing is I think it may be the reportdata.xls file on ALL our users as I used one provided by the helpdesk to create so it probably fixed mine and nobody else's! Think I need to look into this!
  10. Hi there I am having the a similar issue with the "Error 1004", when the report runs it opens 2 spreadsheets, one with the word 'test' on the tab name and no data, the other with the data from the report - some reports return the data formatted, some don't - I created the report and on my computer anyone can log in and run the report without this error. On other people's computers even if I log in the report runs with this error message. It would appear older existing reports created before I arrived are also creating this error message now! I have been unable to find the reportdata xls file at this new school ('documents' folder cant be located at the moment!) but our help desk sent me their file to use, so whether this is the issue (a faulty reportdata.xls file, and I am the only one with the correct one on my machine!) or whether it is a 'microsoft office' issue I have no idea. Asked my ICT guys to look into it but would love to hear if anyone else is having similar issues Thanks guys
  11. Thanks Mr Matt. That was where I expected to find it but curiously, the set up at this school has no 'documents' area let alone TempSimsRpt. Good to know that I am not going mad and that they should still go there
  12. Hi everyone Just joined the site and really hope you can help me with a quick questions - I have used macros in the reports before but an now in a new school and I CANNOT find the reportdata.xls file anywhere! The reportdata.enc is in C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net but not the xls file, and there is no 'temp' folder inthere. Can you tel me where your reportdata.xls is sitting please Thanks all
