Thanks for the reply i'll set a few of those up. The reason i chose to use appointments is because I could set the times as google calender runs on the hour and the staff here will only use something if it is simpler than the process already in place, the way the appointment calender allows me to create the event for the time period required and only needs a click from a member of staff looked really simple - While the resource calender looks great I can't see many of our staff using it. If the calender I created just showed who has booked previous appointments it would be perfect. I'll see what I can do using a combination of the two. Thanks again, Will

Hi, I have made a set of room booking calenders in google calender - they are just appointment slots repeated every day of the week. This looks like it has the possibility of working quite well however I have stumbled at the final hurdle. Currently all users can see the appointments when they are available but as soon as someone books one that slot disappears, the user that has booked the slot can see that they have booked it as it comes up with their name where previously the button was. I have attempted to share the calender so everybody can see it but this has not worked. Has anybody here set up a similar calender? So I have booked a single period in this week, this shows up to me as the blue square with my name on it - other users have booked periods aswell. I can see that they are booked but not who has booked them, which is not ideal. What I would like to be able to see is every period that is booked turns into a block like mine with whoever booked its name on. The process behind the scenes as far as I can work out is that an appointment when booked creates an event, all of which should be viewable on the public google calender. Any help much appreciated. We don't unfortunately, I have come to a partial solution though. Using firefox I installed foxyproxy and entered the port number for staff and tested it, this allowed access to the site, which is odd as it wouldn't do this though any of the browsers default proxy settings. But what is stranger is it then went through on the student port on foxy proxy. I logged out of that test account and logged into another (without foxyproxy) and it appears to be working on this one machine, I have no idea what I have done to remedy the issue on this machine but it isn't a convincing fix.

All the students have gmail accounts which they are able to sign into fine, it goes past the generic google log on screen onto the screen lacking any style confirming that it is the account I wish to use after I click continue on my account it launches into appinventor, on the student accounts it goes to the blank screen. We are fairly lax on what kids can and cant view here so its really confusing as to what is stopping it.

This issue has been lingering around for a month, i have put multiple hours in trying to figure it out but I cannot for the life of me get to the bottom of it. Our IT department wants to start using app inventor, thats not a problem there are plenty of good writeups here about getting the appinventor emulator to run. I cannot get the actual site where I believe they do the coding to run on the student profiles. The address is http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/ and it will not load under student profiles. My first thought was that our external filtering was blocking it as I was able to access it fine. This is not the case as I have called them and double checked that it is indeed open on the student port (:8083). Then I considered our internal filtering, we use impero for web filtering amongst other things, I have uninstalled this and tried again with no luck. As far as I am aware we don't have any polices in place that would block the site or any elements on it. Has anybody else run into this issue? Thanks in advance, Will
