Would anyone care to soothe my troubled mind? Basically, I'm tying myself in knots trying to get my head round how external mail works in Exchange. what i know so far Our current e-mail system "Mailtraq" looks up a POP3 account held with Blueyonder, there is an address for the POP3 server which is an IP and has account and password details attached. E-mails are then retrieved and sorted through Mailtraq. I've also found an IP address for a remote mail server under the outgoing mail settings. The MX record points to these : 20 mail2.cableinet.net 10 inmail1.cableinet.co.uk Internal mail works fine and i've been able to send an email from the administrator to my own account. Exchange server is sitting on the admin network with the admin DC which is all behind a firewall (port 25 should be open already for SMTP). Any help would be really really helpful! Matt

Any help on this? I was trying to run Forestprep on the main DC and I get this error : "Either you do not have permission to update the Acitve Directory schema or Active Directory service is currently too busy." In preparation for running forestprep i've got the Schema Admins group, Enterprise Admins all in place and a member of the built in administrators group. I logged on as administrator as well. Disconnected the network cable from the server so that there's no one trying to access anything to do with the DC or AD itself. Yet I still get this error! Any suggestions? Att. Prnt Screen Image

Level 39 (and a half) (Nougat) on Azjol Nerub server. Actually managed to play it a tiny bit at work! (but shhh don't tell anyone) Great game though. The only game I keep coming back to.

Has anybody had to deploy Java JRE? Like it says on that link below : " If you want to register the JRE as the default virtual machine of Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Netscape browsers, you will have to create a transform that sets the variables IEXPLORER, MOZILLA, and NETSCAPE6 to 1 in the Property.idt table. You can find instructions on how to generate and use transforms at the Microsoft MSDN site. " This whole Transform business just flies straight over my head. Unfortunately I need to get it done though as, if i end up having it not the default virtual machine, i'm going to have to go round every machine in school and manually do this which almosts defeats the purpose of doing a lazy deploy. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000011100.xml No problem assigning the MSI to GPO but that transform bit just has me lost.
