theres been a semi recent firmware early sep i think and driver update

On our yhgfl we had problems with the caching server as memory serves they share the same 2 IP addresses amongst schools so the caching server had problems staying on the same IP to download we were convinced we were pulling in caching info from other schools in the area at one point, the logs showed this happening as you pinged one address the caching server attempts to lock onto it but then it switches. I may be out of date and will read brimstones post with intrest.

Anyone got any recommendations for a till system for school? currently use 2 mini cube pcs and a excel program to print receipts but its on its way out is there any software to make your own custom receipts or a whole system?

hello looking at doing a server manager or general server course with a qualification of some sort, currently try and mange server2012 and 2008r2 anyone any advice or recommendations? cheers

i know youve used meraki but i dont know if there different ports for apple itself sorry!

what firewall are you using there are various ports needed to run profile manager to get everything talking? we had to request them opening then like magic it all worked?

usually see 4001 when the ipad hasnt been invited/enrolled try re adding your profiles in configurator and then enroll as normal in profile manager we did it by inporting profiles from profile manger into configurator?

we found You usually have to fully reset the ipads full wipe to join to profile manager and get them supervised in configurator

yup costs a fortune but due to various connections to LEA and sims its become engrained and difficult to move from...allegedly pricing up a 100m connection but looks pricey and still almost useless if we expand Ipads having a working caching server would save strain on the system so catch 22.

wont speculate too much but been told we wont get a static ip under a system that has been in place mere months may have to look elsewhere, we were put on a 10m connection even tho we have a fibre connection straight into school? left over from an old system than went belly up i gather?

cheers guys kinda looking like we were moved onto a 10m home broadband instead of business? but cant get a straight answer on this so just speculation/

On setting up apple caching server we had to get into the world of public IP addresses we have found ours changes from one to another and is barley static for more than a few seconds the ips are traced back to yhgfl and on ringing a couple of other schools in the area thy too are using the same public IP addresses as usual we cant get any sense out of anyone? my question is would a constantly changing public ip effect anything else? anyone on yhgfl experience the same or have apple caching server working? our 2 public ips end .20 and .22? sorry to be a bit vague but its a headache trying to get virgin/yhgfl/lea to help ?

just using profile manager and configurator taken say a year to get working and semi reliable, still unsure whether there is a full ipad worth of apps and books in caching, but have had a full 30 odd apps downloading/installing at one rather than the usual 3 or so? i think a few still are hitting apple servers rather than the caching server lol still as vague as ever good old apple.
