Make sure the permissions are holding in the samba file after a reboot of the service. I had an issue on a server once where my smb.conf kept getting reset ocassionally, I would have to change it back and reset samaba to fix it. I copied the desired config and had a cron job copy and replace the smb.conf file over every twenty minutes to get me through until Summer when I had to rebuild it to fix it.

Just removing the mount without fixing the permissions issue may be putting a band-aid on a nicked artery. I would try to resolve the perms issue by enabling veto files in SMB, see if that removes the browsing, then worry about removing the shortcut. If you just remove the mount they can find a way to get back in there without the mount.

Are all your virtual DCs GCS? Where do all of the FSMO roles reside, on the one physical box? How is replication for other items taking place since the change to the computer account of the PDC?

Not sure this would definitively rule anything out for you. You could still have a local host file or another issue with a path not hard set here in DNS appending. I would go to the lower level of simply doing tracerts for the domains you are having issues with and checking those results against this screenshot as to what should be resolving. That would give a better idea of where to look for the issue as opposed to crossing problems off the list.

If you are redirecting everything separately, My Pictures, My Videos, etc.. vs just redirecting My Documents, I know that you have to be very careful with the redirection in terms of if you include the "/" or not at the end of the path. That can prevent the auto re-creation.

Where exactly are you wanting it to show up, in the Go List, Favorites tab... cmd-shift-h; while in menu cmd-j; check Show Library Folder will do it. Are you wanting a terminal solution?

When you did a rebind on your Mac Server, everything went well? When you say the settings aren't anywhere, do you mean on the Mac server or just that they aren't transferring to the Mac clients?

New mac user, have an issue with Microsoft Outlook 2011. The account is using IMAP and SMTP to access a web mail server, not Exchange. I use Outlook primarily for the integrated calendar and how easily it works with most meeting requests. Anyway everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago when my outlook started re-downloading all my mail on a sync. It happens about 3 times a day, I think whenever I navigate from the calendar section back to the mail section and it checks for mail. To be clear, it is re-downloading mail not duplicating. Mac OS 10.9.4 Outlook 2011 version is 14.4.3 I have tried the following suggestions I have found so far with no luck: 1.) Set Outlook application to "Prevent App Nap" 2.) Turned off storing a local copy of Sent Mail 3.) Rebuilt Outlook Database Most online suggestions are dealing with POP accounts not IMAP, and outside of these suggestions I am running into a wall. I am posting here in hopes that you guyz can save my bacon else, I am going to have to find a new app for email.
