I posted a question on their support pages in October of last year asking for an update and was contacted by one of the YouTube for Schools Program Managers last week. She said that they're currently working on a solution and asked for some specific details about our school to see if she could speed things along for us. If I get anywhere with them I'll post back!

+1 for Xibo too, we've currently got 3 screens running on it and another being added over Christmas, I happened to have my own personal webspace that I use for blogging, so I'm running the school Xibo server on that for the time being. I looked at doing a localhost setup, but that really didn't suit as I wanted to move away from having to physically go to the computer each time I wanted to change the displays. I'm now looking at either an internal server in the school for it, or buying a domain to host Xibo. If I go down that route I'm planning to make it available to others for free/a couple of pounds a year to help cover hosting costs.

Brilliant, thanks! It didn't even occur to me to check the BG colour as I use an image in the BG of my layouts!
