  1. Hi all, We've recently installed InTouch and are in the process of setting up the configuration/contact info. One thing we don't know is what effect it will have on server resources once we're in full swing. Capita were extremely vague on this front, anyone had any experience? Server is a virtualised environment, win2012, SQL 2012, 16GB RAM and 4 virtual CPU's. Any advice would be much appreciated, Cheers
  2. I'd do this in stages. Look at what you need to do right now. Room being converted means something needs to happen to work with that. Backups taking all night could be disk speed (very likely) or could be that the backups are spaced apart to have less running at the same time. Those are what you have and need to do now. Then plan for near future, what are you likely to add or have confirmed purchases over the next 2 years and how will that affect the bandwidth? I can't tell from your post what time scales you are working on for the wireless update. Get the wired kit where you want them before doing the wireless upgrade or the wireless upgrade will see little enhancement and appear wasted money. I'd recommend HP switches too
  3. Glad I could be of use
  4. Morning, Just to say that this has been solved by adding the following line to squid.conf ignore_expect_100 on This is explained here. SOLVED! HTTP Status 417 Error | Cogzidel Technologies Thanks
  5. It's just another brick in the wall
  6. Hi all, We have started using the SISRA Excel Addin. We'd like to use the online mode but Excel says it cannot reach their servers. Our squid server shows http response code 417. Any ideas? Thanks
  7. Sorry for not coming back on this, it was the web filtering. Code Academy's Python classes connect to 1 ip address as well as a couple of url's. As we block direct IP access, that was causing the issue.
  8. When using code academy, we are getting connection errors when submitting code (only tried python). This only occurs on our wireless network, wired network is fine. This only happens on the one site. Wondering if you guys can shed any light? edit: now happening on all networks but only on the python classes, so I'm assuming this is a problem on their end.
  9. And does it ask for authorisation to run? Does event viewer tell you anything?
  10. Odd, we have that here with no issues. This is also the recommended papercut practice. Can you actually put that in the run command box and launch the client that way?
  11. why not launch it from the print server (assuming they have a network connection), ours just has \\print01\PCClient\win\pc-client.exe --silent You'd also need to allow that file to be run without asking for user approval.
  12. Sorted through changing the desktop link to execute firefox and then setting the homepage for all users.
  13. Morning, We have a RDS server on Win 2012. As the security settings dont allow for files to be downloaded through IE, I'm looking to set all users' default browser to firefox but can't remember how I did it! I assume there's a group policy setting? I've tried the logon script through adding cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\" && firefox.exe -silent -nosplash -setDefaultBrowser to it. Any ideas?
  14. +1 for internal NTP server, pulling from pool.ntp.org Ours runs Centos 6
  15. Never sat exams to be honest, I've learnt by doing and by doing on Desktop for a few years. I used Arch Linux so as to get used to patching In terms of training, CBT nuggets stuff is good but not cheap LPI Linux LPIC-1 101 and CompTIA Linux+ Video Training Online | CBT Nuggets
