An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Technician to work within Derby High School’s IT department. The role involves providing 1st/ 2nd /3rd line IT support at the Derby High School. You will provide day to day desktop support, hardware support, troubleshooting and be involved with larger projects.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week, all year round, worked in accordance with service requirements. The salary for this post is £21,074 to £23,111.
Ideally you will have some experience of modern Microsoft Windows operating systems such as Windows 8 and Windows 10, a basic understanding of security technologies, i.e. Anti-Virus, Firewalls and internet security and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016, 365 and Windows 7. The products you will be supporting are mostly Microsoft, however, you will also be expected to support solutions from many other software and hardware vendors.
Ideally you will have experience working within a similar IT background (i.e. schools, colleges, universities) although this is not essential, and you will be looking to progress and develop your skills in a wide variety of IT areas. Your main responsibilities will be to provide effective support, installation, configuration and maintenance of the IT system, software, hardware and infrastructure as well as data security. You will work under the supervision of the Network Manager and be required to work to a very high standard.
