I would say it was made for this purpose Windows Multipoint Server presents a login just like a Windows client(In a domain environment). We have been using WMS since 2010, since its development has stopped we are phasing it out. Jason

The Clever badges product looks very interesting. Does anyone know what this costs? Thanks for the feedback. Jason

Has anyone found a way to simplify logging into Windows computers for young elementary students? I was thinking a picture password, or pin, etc.. I know with Windows 10 they have Windows Hello but that still has to be per computer. Thanks, Jason

I am pretty sure they copy students have is not in the browser. Any ideas for blocking those besides uninstalling Java?

I was wondering how many people are using a RuleSet? I plan on implementing one in the fall. Does the ruleset restrict local java applets? My kids love bring in minecraft on an key and installing it. Thanks, Jason

Doesn't work well for us. I could get the Office365 codeplex script to work for staff but for students it never worked. MS needs to remove the Office365 re-authenication then it will work.

I think I am going to go with this solution. Windows 7 – Shutdown message with countdown and cancel | IT Support Guides Then set it up as a scheduled task with group policy. Windows 7 – Run Scheduled Task Interactively | IT Support Guides Thanks, Jason

Bummer. Just looking at SmartPower. It looks interesting if it were free for education. I don't think I would need a cancel button since it detects inactivity.

FOG looks pretty interesting. We use ConfigMgr here. Can you strip out the shutdown feature so it is super simple and small footprint?
-
Yes, I need the cancel option. I have used the Poweroff program that has been around since 2000 but with Windows 7 it does not display the shutdown/cancel option so I am looking for something new. Thanks, Jason

What are some recommendations for a Free shutdown utility that works with Windows 7/8 that you can configure to run as a service? Thanks, Jason

I need the Windows Store Apps - A Deployment Guide for Education document about a month ago... I heard from about 5 people at MS and all of them said bits and parts of this document but none had all of this information. It is nice it is finally all put together but this should have been released on RTM day of Windows 8.1... Come on MS get your sh.t together.

Yes, pretty much... I am planning on opening a case with MS Premier about this issue to see what they say.

I was able to get our students Office 365 drive mapped using Group Policy Preferences. Here is our path... https://BLAH-my.sharepoint.com/personal/%username%_BLAH_org/Documents There is one big gotcha. If the folder mapping to work you must sign in and click "Keep me signed in". Then logoff, login and the mapping will work. Thanks, Jason
