  1. That's what I understood from browsing the little information on their website. But it is nice to get it confirmed.
  2. I have a school saying that it is making extra work as they have Inventry for the kids as well as visitors and staff and it is logging pupil absence in SIMS with the N code. We support SIMS not this 3rd party add-on and as far as we can see it would be an Inventry problem/setup. After all, before Inventry no N mark unless the teacher did the register.... With Inventry........ Ah. Ideas?
  3. Never used T2P before and their website shows a missing page for their "contact us" links! Does T2P use the connect.ini to locate the SIMS DB whether local or hosted? paul
  4. I have a single school to get up and running on SOLUS3 ASAP. I'm looking at the "Authorising LA Deployment Environment", as we have no interest in being middleman for Capita and the school. Reading the hand books there's nowhere apparent where we make this decision. In these days of cloud based processing that having a DS and DS Database here and at the school seems wasteful. Suggestions gratefully received on how to proceed. paul
  5. I'm looking for .Net templates for id badges and this thread came up in the search. Investigating your zip now. Might not be what I need.
  6. Searched and eventually found this thread. I have a school that bought a Magicard printer and we need the SIMS .Net template for Staff badges. Thanks
  7. I had a search and found this thread from 2010. One of our schools has bought the Magicard Enduro printer but not the badge maker software as their seller said that it was cheaper to use SIMS. These are staff badges not pupils. Does anyone have a template they'd like to share to save ne re-inventing the wheel? Capita won't assist as Magicard and/or it's software house aren't licenced Capita Partners.
  8. I think that may be only way around it... Thanks.
  9. Have suggested that already. They already have SIMS 7.154 running and the Head doesn't want "any disruption" when we install FMS in the same instance. My idea was to install FMS in a new R2 instance and then migrate both to 2012 at a later date once they are happy that it all works.
  10. Have had a few error messages attempting to attach a new borough wide FMS DB to a school we have just taken on. The long and the short of it is that our DB was created in an R2 environment and the school is still in SQL 2008 Express. What is the easiest and quickest upgrade path to get to R2.......
