  1. I could not get this to work so it's a bit messy but quite simply I created another redirected Folder shortcut ( in the redirected start menu for staff ) call Laptops and placed the 10 pieces of software in this. Teachers happy and I can until they all get rebuilt with all the same software live with this for now :-)
  2. Sorry just noticed this. It seems to be ok but the Apple solution is far from perfect. Infact I cannot believe this is the recomended solution from Apple
  3. Guys I wonder if anyone can help. It sounds easy but I am having a major pain with this. Simply I have a puccka GPO structure with Staff/Pupils/Office, Windows 7/Windows XP wmi filtering etc and everything works great fro the Windows 7 computers, XP computers, XP Laptops etc, etc in school/out of school. We use redirected Start menu's etc Only issue is that I have 1/2 dozen laptops that I want to get every GPO when the user logs on in school/home the same ( which is working ) except I don't want redirected start menu's to just these laptops. Simply because these laptops only have around 10 pieces of software installed. Is there any way that I can stop redirected start menu's on these 1/2 dozen laptops ? Any help would be grateful

  10. Did anyone find out how to fix this has I also have the same issue Quite simply we use education gmail and when not on the Ruckus wireless network everything works fine, internet etc I have enabled IMAP on the gmail accounts and can get email perfect on the Mobile phone system outside the tin roof school with the imap.gmail.com settings. I also get the same error inside school has you "the mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. verify that you have entered correct account info in mail settings" Tried resetting the password and the Captcha and still this does not work. Anyone got any clues. We are on YHGFL but works fine from IE8/9 just not the mobile phones and only on the wireless with a manual proxy ?
  11. they gave me a patch that takes twop seconds to run and it's all fixed now cheers. Simply ring then for the latest patch to fix this
  12. Thank you, I will ring them, hpefully they will have the patch ?
  13. I know this is because the software is very old but the school wishes to continue to use granada branch ( free from the lea years ago ). I have the following issue and wondered if anyone has the answer ? a) After installing the software I get a error message saying "failed to int" b) Granada learning is no more and I cannot find out who supports this software anymore. Having looked on edugeek there is a patch I need to run ( however I cannot find this anywhere on here on the internet or any tech support anymore ) Granada Learning - Branch - Wiki Does anyone still have the patch ? Pretty Please :-) I know there are alternatives like softease and flexi tree but obviously the patch would be lot cheaper for the school.
  14. I work in 20 schools with two other technicians and we are looking into a way to share information between ourselves like passwords, licence codes etc better. It must be available easily but secure online or sent directly to our iPhones or accessed by them and can be updated by everyone. The solution I have looked is an excel file in google docs but Google Docs just dont look that good and would mean logging in all the time from our phones. Does anyone know of a solution that we could use by all 3 of us that looks professional and does exactly what is says on the tin or have a excel/access/software solution ? We use iPhones and have server 2003 and Outlook 2003 from the main office and have dropbox installed
  15. I had exactly the same issue. Do the following tests ping the server -t and see if you are loosing packets every so often from the location having issues I was and changing the switch and it fixed the issue If your switch is flashing like crazy then someone has patched two switches together twice or a virus problem Other items that may be worth while is to setup test user and a different OU just to check that it's not Group policy Lastly I have herd of some people having issues with odd excel document saving over the network slow. This was to do with the documents linked to locations no longer there or network drives.
