  3. Hi all, We have recently fitted out a new library suite at our sixth form building and i have been asked to look into giving the librarian the facility to book out the computers public library/cybercafe style. So far she has looked at iCAM and netloan which are very expensive (£5-6K). I was just wondering if anyone else has implemented something similar or has any feedback on either of these two? What the librarian would like to do is authorise students to use the computers by the half hour and to be able to specify whether or not they can use the internet during that half hour. After the half hour has expired the student will automatically be logged off and the computer can't be used unless the same student books another half an hour or another student books it. (Hope that makes sense!) Any suggestions/comments gratefully received. Thanks
  4. I did ours SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 + SIMS transfer & upgrade during October half term. Mine too went very smoothly apart from connect.ini problem and it only took me a morning to do. I wouldn't have paid our LEA to do it. There is also a lot of help now on the Capita website.
  5. Hi, i think if you have full sql 2000 you must upgrade to full 2005 before the November release. Also might be worth noting you should have service pack 3 or above on sql 2000 before running sims upgrade utility. Hope this helps.
  6. Hi there, I am sick of trawling the internet to no avail trying to find a decent bit of software to automate PC shutdown on an evening and was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for some software i could try. Thankyou
