  1. Hi everyone. I am trying to get this DfE checking exercise finished this weekend. Wherever a pupil has a result for both Art & Design: Fine Art and Art & Design: Textiles, the DfE data only shows one of them. So I was wondering whether it's a case of them discounting each other?
  2. Jrma91 Same here. I just used the spreadsheet from the link in an earlier post. I used the average APS of reading, writing and maths and converted to a sub level. I used the maths lookup but could have used English. I doubt that it's 100% accurate but it's the best I could come up with. Regards
  3. Thanks all for the fantastic responses. I'm probably being thick, but how are you arriving at a single level for English? Averaging reading & writing? Also, how to get an average fine-level for maths & English? I was thinking of going backwards from the average APS. I think whoever did this at my school last year just used some ad hoc method rather than any calculation. Or are you just using the test level? Emm In terms of target setting, we set some very challenging targets: 5 LP for L5; 4LP for L4a & 4b;3 LP for everyone else. Each department puts together a flight plan with the only caveat of a minimum of 2 LP from Y7-Y9 and pupils reaching their targets by KS4. Some subjects, where the central KS4 target is unrealistic, set their own targets. A recent Ofsted inspector really liked the differentiated aspect of these and teachers seem OK with them.
  4. Does anybody have any idea how to go about arriving at a single level for KS2 English? I don't know what method my school used last year. But then there was no SPAG last year. How are others doing KS4 target setting?
  5. Hello all New data manager here. Reading through the posts on here is proving very useful. Based on the recommendations in tihs thread, I think I am going to go to book myself on the the Optimus conference. I wish I had found this forum a term ago! Thanks!
