Hi Guys, these guys took over the Toshiba brand and clearly they have messed up on the batteries. If you are over the 180 days (100% now) you basically either fork out for a new battery (not cheap), run on mains or just write them off - sell of what you can as parts and call it a day. Yes they might be some good batches but that's all it will be. For me the A30 battery costs £83 while the realistic value of the laptop is probably £70 now. And they all walked free ...

Spot on, its one thing fooling the public its another thing making IT Admins look like idiots! This story is so prevalent that without a doubt this is a scandal. I appreciate Dawn has done her best to help BUT she does have to toe the line.. come on. Firmware update does nothing by the way and DfE are not bothered (I tried), so I argued my way to get 10 batteries due to "goodwill" LMAO. Sellers on Ebay are aware these are an issue since its battery is still on the £50 mark (drop from £70). I have always rated Tosh/Dyna but this is bad. Not as bad as the Geobook/Compucentre scandal.. that's another one. I really appreciate Stone Group due to this.. if they get it wrong they sort it out! as long as you're in warranty I want to know if anyone can recommend someone who can look to repair these battery - It is likely a thermistor or thermostat issue.

Hi jmak, yes they would if it is more that document sharing/editing and basic collaboration. Remember the 365 organization permission and sharepoint site permissions can be set differently which I think is what happening with the original question If non-profit You can contact Microsoft and get a substantial discount on the Standard licensing - the web based is free I think. If you invited people on your teams/sharpoint and all was good then your Org setting are fully open to external sharing (security issues) but still limited - unless they have 365. You can confirm if they are on at least a MS platform my their email address smtp check

Is the user part of the sharepoint security group? Does the user have a sharepoint license? It could be the sharepoint admin is not setup for external sharing

That's right it is no touch with a touchscreen!. The problem is the touch 40-pin with be 2 connectors on the motherboard - I am not sure if they are left the USB converter Touch side disconnected. If they have, then you are in luck since its a 30pin plus touch, IF they have not then not much you can do but replace like for like. At present the failure rate is the worst i've come across so you might as well 'experiment'. All the best

Interesting the 40-pin model is actually a touchscreen from checking up specs.. maybe that might be causing the backlight issue since there is no touch on these??, so XMA (Notts) basically bring them back in, swap with E10 model and send these back to mfg to get sorted - - - Updated - - - Fazza, they should still be in warranty right?

So we have had about 9 Faulty so far (powers up - just black screen ) - council chaps replaced a batch of 4 with the E10 Model (more sturdy!) and gave NO REASON WHY???. Anyway now got in touch direct to get the other 4 swapped - sometimes discharge does the trick.. but staff and pretty pissed when they get nowhere!. 1 is a damaged screen appreciated the Ebay info above
