I read that it was 3 years, so by 2011/12 if the results aren't above 30% requirement then it's bye bye school and hello academy. What if the school reaches the target once in those 3 years tho? Technically they made it...

Funny, my school is on the list yet we're in the middle of BSF... does that make/solve any problems?? Found out too that the schools figure of 27% is actually a little inflated as the school needed to raise it's statistics and entered kids in for worthless half GCSE's....

Oh well for the moment the school will have to make do I guess! It's funny how the head of IT expects me to re-write the software or something to stop it from happening! Pratt. Thanks guys

Has anyone had trouble saving or exporting files using Fireworks 2004 MX? I occasionally get an alert box with "Could not complete your request. An internal error occurred." I've taken a look at this tech article from Adobe:tn_18872 We are currently running Symantec's Norton Utilities with the AutoProtect feature turned on on our RM CC3 network. The tech article states that the fix is to turn autoprotect off however this isn't viable as it is a school network and Autoprotect is required. Tried calling Adobe up but they no longer provide support for the product grr...

Hi all, I've been reading through the BSF forums and it seems like most people here know what's going on etc. First off, I have no idea what the big picture is in terms of job security (I'm an IT Tech). My school has an RM contract signed etc and the building works have started in terms of BSF - the temporary building now blocks out the sun through my window... Anyway, my network manager and I have been told that we'll be having a meeting with an RM official in November 2009 about our jobs etc - what options do we have? The way we see it, the network manager will be pretty much redundant in what he would have to do in his current role as won't be needed, and I'll be a toner changer - obviously not something I'll stick around for if true? Also... TUPE - can someone tell me what it stands for/means? Sorry if anything has been discussed in threads before, but like I said I read through the forums and couldn't really get the answers I was looking for! Thanks

Just logged it with RM, apparently it was a problem they'd already encountered and then fixed on their msi when they released it... but obviously hasn't in our case - they're looking into it now anyway, will keep u posted.

Did anyone get anywhere with the validation problem? Just encountered it on our cc3 network with RM's msi...

We use RM Tutor 3 - don't really have many problems with it at all, you can group workstations into specific rooms for ease of management and browse for machines of certain names e.g. IT1-## rather than have it connect to the entire network. Can also be used by the teachers if they wanted to show a specific computer screen in their room to every workstation... lots to play around with! You can even broadcast audio/listen to audio to workstations :-p

Black polo with school logo (or today's choice, a black polo shirt from an RM seminar with their logo on it... have to try my best for bsf hoho!), black trousers, black shoes... everything black! Just right for this weather... 'doh

As the school I'm with are in the middle of BSF I don't think they're likely to spend money for me to bag myself an MS qualification - and they're a lil too expensive too. I did buy (on eBay ahem!) CD's with the technical training documents for the qualifications which have been useful and interesting and I've got plenty of experience using exchange, server 2003 etc... but I guess like you said - HR frown upon those that don't tick all the right boxes

Hi all, just joined the forums after seeing the site on google - very useful stuff! I'm an IT Technician in a North London high school at the moment and am just wondering whether it's worth getting a qualification such as an MCSE/MCSA? Also, is it pointless getting a qualification lower than those? We have an RM network but I also don't have an RM technicians qualification (yet... thinking of getting it). I do on the other hand have a few years experiences and an honours degree in Microcomputer Systems Technology... how does this all weigh up? Hope someone can give me an insight :-) Thanks!
